Leeward Chalet was a fantastic home base for our trip to the White Mountains. The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The owner Jeff was super proactive about contacting us with information about the house and our arrival. And for us the absolute best part was the EV charger at the house. We've had such a hard time finding charging options in this part of NH in the past - the last time we visited the White Mountains we actually rented a gas car to drive up. The house had everything we needed including those necessities that you always forget (tissues, paper towels, cleaning supplies, coffee, oil, butter, etc…). The great room was our hangout space as well as the back deck. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep and be social. We also enjoyed the fire pit with ample firewood. The host was great at answering any questions we had and ensuring we were all set with everything we needed. The location is convenient to many destinations and very easy to get to. We stayed six nights in June and would have done another week if we could have. The main space—like a big studio apartment with kitchen, dining area, and living room—would work perfectly for big meals and evening entertainment. The long kitchen counter doubles as a bar. The master bedroom is good sized and the big bed is super comfortable. The other two bedrooms on the lower floor are nicely sized, and the loft over the kitchen looks like a fun space but we didn’t have much reason to go up there. A group of four to six people would have plenty of space in this house. Big plusses: 1\. Location: The property is roughly equal driving distance between Crawford Notch and Mount Washington. Fifteen- to 20-minute drives up Routes 16, 16A, and 16B, and up or down Route 302 take you to a variety of trails on state and federal land. Good and great hikes are everywhere. 2\. Owner responsiveness: The owner was very quick to respond by text or call to any questions we had during our stay, and offered good suggestions for local resources. This is a split-level house; you enter on a landing, and to the right are stairs up to the main space and stairs down to the bedrooms. The driveway has space for several vehicles, but with more than one car turn-around space would be tight. Nice, walkable neighborhood. ##### Scott B.
