FABULOUS!
This is a brilliant hotel, very convenient for transport network, fabulous room and really great restaurant. I sat outside for breakfast and it was a lovely start to my day.

From my last visit, the services degraded seriously. House keeping were closing the heating in the room every day, the food in restaurant was altered and i had stomach problems after almost every meal. Services in the restaurant were for a 2* restaurant. Never return there

Pleasant stay but room for improvement.
All in all we enjoyed our stay but we found a few things a bit inconvenient. The lights inside the bedroom are all turned on and off with a pad where you hold a button and it turns red when off and green when on. The issue with this being there is no way to turn off the red led light. We had to use a pillow over one light switch pad as it was directly above the bed and shining in our faces but unfortunately there were still two other light switch pads which we couldn't cover so we found the lights to disturb our sleep. I also found it a little strange not to have bedside tables but instead a shelf build into the headboard, not really convenient when you are having a coffee in bed. The fact we had to walk outside to a separate building every time to access the reception/restaurant and gym facilities. There is construction going at the minute so I imagine usually this isn't an issue and there is normally a corridor to the reception.

I had a pleasant business stay, good service and delicious food. In stayed in a superior room and good upgraded to one with a Jacuzzi. Thank you Van der valk Hotel Gilze!

Good stay
Generally a good stay and I will return in the future. A very good swimming complex at the hotel. Rooms are fresh and clean and spacious. The only point to note is that hotel room doors in our part of the hotel were a bit thin, which meant you could easily hear other customers when they were walking through the corridor or closing their doors.

A very late book-in and arrival, but the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Will definitely stay again.

Great location
Lovely Hotel and surroundings - a bit dated, but I have stayed in Van der Valk hotels before too and they never disappoint. Definitely would recommend for both business travellers and families alike.

We have stayed in this hotel several times over the years visiting our friends in Holland and it never disappoints. In particular the staff are first rate. Although the hotel is always busy you never have to wait for something to drink or eat.

Large complex with two bars, restaurant, health facilities and casino. Room was nice except for having two twin beds instead of a double. Casino was lackluster. There are no 'live' tables, only slots and automated roulette, bingo etc. Also no alcohol served in the casino but I guess that might be the law. Restaurant and bar service was good. Good options were generous and the food was ok.

Good Hotel - with Quirks
Really nice hotel if a little confused. Location is by motorway but it’s quiet. It’s a big hotel. With health club, casino and what looks to be a “residents” wing. Beware if you book superior/ executive then you are in a separate building. It’s not far, may be 200m, but it’s uncovered so in the rain you’re going to get wet. Lots of free parking and free WiFi. Food excellent. Bar good but service extremely slow. Room weird. The whole layout was just odd mainly due to the weird L shape of the room. Strange that a double room gets a 3 seat jacuzzi bath. Who needs 3 seats ? Which takes 30 mins to fill and is extremely difficult to get in and out of due to it being in a tiled housing. No bath robes. Wardrobe ha gets too high. I’m 6ft and only just reached.

The staff were very helpful, giving us an upgrade and the room was high spec with a lovely bathroom. The only problem was that the "double" bed was two single beds pushed together. When you book a double room you expect a double bed.

We enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were spacious and we'll set out. The staff were friendly and efficient but we hardly saw them because this hotel has seperate buildings depending on the type of accomodation you book as far as I can figure out. Being ex military I got the feeling this may have been previously a military establishment with dormitories. That's certainly the feeling I got. Don't get me wrong the rooms are nice and very comfortable and we would stay here again it was just different from you normal hotel set up.

This Hotel is worthy of a 5 Star Rating.
This hotel is absolutely first class in every respect, the accommodation leaves nothing to be desired, the bath rooms have a wet room in addition to a conventional bath, extremely clean everywhere. The rooms are so well furnished. The Hotel's facilities, restaurant, bar etc. are equally of a superb standard. It is a first class modern hotel, of sufficient standard to satisfy the most demanding of travellers. Then the very best of all is the service given by what must be the very best staff ever. The breakfast was exceptional in quality. It was Great! Already booked another visit this time with friends next month.
