First of all, the house was beautifully decorated for the time period and amazingly decorated for the Holidays! Beautiful home. Our Lincoln Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and also very quiet. We loved it so much we will be back. We lovef the atmosphere and Kane their goldendoodle made us feel like we were at home with our boy too! Brad's continental breakfast was delicious. Especially the scrambled eggs and french toast
The house is absolutely beautiful, filled with a lot of historical photos and gorgeous furniture, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The location itself is great being so close to the center of Gettysburg, everything you'll want to do or need to get is all within a 10 minute drive. Parking was a bit tight in the driveway as it was a busy weekend, but there was still more than enough room to get in and out when needed. Brad was a very gracious and helpful host. He was responding to texts when we had any questions & sent clear and concise info we needed to get into the house. The breakfast... Oh my, it was just perfect!! Waking up to the smell of sausage, potatoes, french toast and fresh coffee was a great start to help start and fuel our day. There was a guide to Gettysburg with local events and attractions to go to, as well as a coupon to a local restaurant which was much appreciated. We will definitely be back, 5 stars!!
This was a quaint home with comfortable accommodations. The Host was wonderful and loved Kane, the "house dog".He was so calm and friendly. Though we didn't have time to explore the town, the location was perfect to enjoy a day experiencing all the local shops and fare. Would definitely recommend,as it was comfortable and convenient to all the local sites.
The review question about wine stumped me since a wine tour was not part of our one night stay nor would we have wanted it to. I couldn’t bypass the last question so put one star with N/A beside it. My intention was to leave 5 stars in every category. If this skews the rating that is too bad. We enjoyed our visit immensely and recommend this historic home to everyone. Everything was beautiful and the host was most cordial and accommodating towards us!
First of all anytime I had questions leading up to our trip and also during Brad was very responsive and helpful. Check in was super easy, home was even prettier in person, decor was spot on with the time period and lots of attention to detail, even have Kane, their doodle there to welcome you home. He was just the sweetest and we just loved him!! The home had off street parking which was wonderful and home is so walkable to get to almost anywhere you want to go. We will definitely stay with Brad again if we are back in Gettysburg and you should too!! This place is well worth the money to stay here!
Absolutely adored this historic B&B! The B&B provides a comfortable and home like environment. Great location with ample parking and super easy to walk around to anywhere you would want to go. The host Brad was very welcoming and easy to talk to. He provided excellent information on the home, Gettysburg area and a 10 coupon to the family restaurant O’Rouke’s which I highly recommend! We enjoyed it more than the competition, and I would even say that if we didn’t get the coupon. I loved the house dog, Kane, he was just an adorably huge teddy bear, so calm and cool you just forgot he was there. Small area for improvement is check-in instructions. The entryway for the B&B is on the side of the house, but our room was on the second floor. When you enter the side of the home there are two very visible stairwells that you do not want to use, and Brad even put signage there. There was some confusion as to how to go to the second floor where our room was located. The home has an interior stairwell located at the front entry of the house (makes sense) so just walk through the dining room to the living room and you will find the front entry and stairwell to the suites. Made perfect sense once I saw it. Definitely will book again if we make another trip in the fall.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Olinger House Bed and Breakfast. Location was convenient and reserved parking for guests is a real plus. The house and grounds are aesthetically pleasing and decorated beautifully to add to the relaxed stay. Breakfast was delicious and on time. Would definitely stay here again.
Property clean and inviting. Host was awesome…loved the period decor throughout and the hammocks in the backyard. Then there’s the dogs, a perfect compliment to a great weekend getaway.
The house and our room were charming and very clean with each room very distinct and historical. We liked that we could check in early. Hosts were great in being accessable to us.
Perfect location for a quick visit- easy location to find, great parking area for guests, and tremendous welcoming from host and his loyal canine buddy. We will be back for a longer stay!
My daughter and I stayed in the Lincoln suite for a night, it was our first time in Gettysburg. The home was absolutely beautiful, the host was very friendly, accommodating, made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely be back and recommend everything about this place:)
This is our second stay at the Olinger House and we loved it just as much as the first time. The charm and warth of the property is tremendous and we are already looking forward to our next stay there.
We had the Lincoln room. It was very spacious, bed was comfortable and room was relatively quiet. We couldn't hear any of the other guests near us. Downsides was that the room would get very warm at night and I would suggest bring your own pillows. They were too flat for me. Also bring shampoo/conditioner LOL. This is probably the 1st time we've been to a B&B where this wasn't supplied but I'm not dogging them for not having it either. Everyone's hair care is different. All in all we had an excellent time! I really can't say enough about the place and our host, Brad! He was super nice and informative! His 2 dogs, Caine and Max, were a pleasure and love! The B&B is located so close to many museums, sites, and downtown shopping that we were able to walk to almost everything except the Battlefield. Will stay here again!
Adorable, Clean, friendly! We didn’t want to leave! Brad, Gabe and their pup Kane were awesome. They are easy to talk to and gave great recommendations for walking or driving around town. The B n B is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean.
