We had early acces to our room, which was good. But there was dust all alongside the walls. The bed was not steady enough, very soft matras. Also, someone from the reception walked into our room while we were in it. Without knocking! Very unprofessional. There were reddish stains on the bed linnen. After mentioning this to the front desk, we said we will not come back again. And the response was, well I think we tried our best. Only apologies, no resolutions to help solve the problem or to try have us come back again…

Stayed for 2 nights, Friday & Saturday - there was a wedding reception in the hotel on the Sat night meaning that other paying guests had to listen to loud music until 3am and loud guests returning to their rooms shouting in hallways and moving furniture in rooms (which you can hear through the walls) well after 3am. After trying to call reception for over an hour with no answer, I had to get out of bed to go downstairs to complain to the night manager Arno Raemdonck about the noise, but he only offered excuses and no solutions. I was later told by one of the barstaff that the wedding was hosted by the hotel owner and that they could not shut the music off because it was the owner's party! Absolutely NO consideration for paying guests. On top of this, when we arrived on Friday, the restaurant was closed with no advance notice to paying guests (and obviously closed Saturday as well). Saturday morning the cleaners were out in the hallways at 8am making loud noise to prepare the rooms for the wedding guests. When we asked for our room to be cleaned, the towels were taken away but not replaced, no coffee/creamer was replaced, and cleaning solution was left in the room. We asked for 2 additional pillows since the ones given were flat, but we were only given 1 (we were 2 guests). The air conditioning in the room didn't work. There was a strange mattress topper on the bed which kept coming out of the sheets (which had stains on). Decor is tired and needs redoing, do not stay here!!

Bed bug!!!!
On the whole a disappointing stay. I have used hotels.com for the last 3 years, staying on average 30 nights a year and never felt I needed to leave a review until now. M Hotel Review The pictures make the hotel look very modern, but the decor was very very dated and tired. TV in room had no remote so couldn't use it for the first 2 days. Was issued with replacement remotes but these didn't work either. Ended up finding the original remote as i was leaving for check out, stuffed down the side of the bed. Coffee machine was filthy, had old sachets stuffed in it. Parking at the hotel was expensive. £12 a day. Didn't get a single good night sleep in the bed and am now covered in bed bug bites all over arms and head. Service was basic and hotel understaffed. No barman in the bar for example. You have to ask reception for a drink. Although the pictures look good dont be fooled. Not worth the expense. Stay at the Carbon hotel down the road instead.

Nice but could be better
It's an older hotel that's been mostly refurbished. Rooms are comfortable and stylish but the hallways and shared spaces are still older. Breakfast was average.

WILL DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN
VERY NICE HOTEL! Very quiet and situated right across the street from a mall and plenty of restaurants to choose from! The only issue I had is how long it takes for the hot water to come on (took at least 10-15 mins), but other than that Wouk definitely stay here again.

Don't book a lake view room on the second floor
Generally excellent, good and clean facilities convenient to most amenities in town. Lovely park at the rear where I had a wonderful morning walk. The upgrade to a lake view room was very disappointing as all I could see from my room was trees and parking charge was not what I expected, as on all my previous trips it was free but now they say the car park does not belong to the hotel which makes me feel uncomfortable thinking they lied to me!!!

Beautiful hotel in a great neighborhood
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The hotel is situated right next to a gorgeous lake with a park surrounding it to walk through. You can rent a little row boat for a half hour. We had the breakfast buffet both mornings and it was very good. My husband did a little day trip to Spiegelven golf course and played 9 holes, it was a very nice course. He also went to SnowWorld the same day (during Summer!) and snowboarded for an hour at the indoor resort. He had the time of his life. I walked ten minutes from the hotel to the Carbon Hotel (also part of Different Hotels) to the spa and got a lovely massage. The entire town felt very safe to walk around and all of the people are friendly. Lots of shopping also with malls called Shopping 1, Shopping 2, and Shopping 3. This place is an absolute gem! The restaurant at the hotel is very good as well as the restaurant next door, De Molen. We tried to go to the restaurant Gusto because it was recommended. We were sat at a table outside and waited 30 minutes. No one acknowledged us, so we got up and left. We went to the 360 restaurant around the corner and service was very good, fast, and food was yummy.

Great value hotel close to Maastricht
I booked three rooms for one night as it was convenient for our visit to the Andre Rieu concert at Maastricht,only twenty minutes away.On arrival we were greeted and offered a glass of sparkling wine,a first in many years of travel.The rooms had just been refurbished and were excellent,very well equipped and comfortable.The setting beside the lake and park was great and the shopping mall opposite the hotel was very convenient with a supermarket shops and restaurants.My party of friends all wished we had booked a longer stay.

We loved our room it was lovely and different and new with a modern style to it which we loved the only thing we would have liked if there were some coffee or teas in the room other than that we really liked it. Is in a perfect location with the shops across the road.

Convenience drove this selection. Only complaint is that carpets are disgustingly dirty/stained throughout the hotel,in the room, hallways, even stairway. So while there were no other issues, it makes one wonder about the general state of hygiene, beds, etc.

Very good location with a shopping center a cross the street and a park with a large lake Behind the hôtel good for Morning runs. Nice small Town safe walking alone locals very helpful. Very Pleasant weekend.

We had one bath towel and one hand towel to last us 4 days The room was not cleaned whilst we stayed there from the friday to the monday They tried to charge us for breakfast even though we did not eat in the hotel They charged us full price when we checked out even though it clearly states that you pay the price you booked This hotel refuses to accept your booking as the agreed price, the receptionist stated that you pay the full price, when I pointed out on the booking form that you pay the price you booked she stated you pay the full price or we call the Police,

Enjoyed our stay, although the breakfast was, quite frankly, a total rip off for the price; probably get better for less in the shopping mall opposite. Had fruit, cereal coffee etc first morning, which was okay, eggs bacon the second morning which was not great. Plenty of breads etc on offer but wow, couldn't believe how much the breakfast cost when I came to pay the bill! If we stay again, no way will we have breakfast there. The hotel itself was very clean and specs were high. Minor weird things though - bathroom sink design has no plug!?! Makes for a lot of wasted water in our eco times! No mini bar/ fridge. No English breakfast tea?? Staff didn't explain that the door key works the electricity. Also, when arriving by car the machine not clear to the uninitiated - basically it's a public "Pay" car park, not the hotels. So, you have to get a ticket at the barrier to get in. There was clearly a "problem" on the day of our arrival and even though we arrived early and the hotel was aware of that, we were still asked to wait a further hour when we came back at check in time. We had to push for an alternative room (we'd been driving for 7 hours). Although staff were very pleasant, the check in fiasco did take the gloss off things to begin with. Didn't sample the restaurant so can't comment on that.

The hotel lobby, restaurant, and bars were beautiful and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful large pond behind the hotel with outdoor seating. Once we go off the elevator to get to our room, I thought I was in a completely different building. The hallways are are lined with old carpets that are stained and there was a definite unfinished look. The room itself was nice. The beds were a little too firm for my taste, and instead of having a queen sized bed, we had two twins pushed together that slid apart very easily. No microwave or mini-fridge in the room which was disappointing.

We had a large, but old and worn room. But compared to the price we paid this was acceptable. The hotel is in the process of refurbishing its rooms, and the new rooms looked quite nice. So try to get one of these if you stay here. For the rest the service was good and so was the breakfast buffet.

Good overnight location for business trip
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the train station in Genk. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size and the bed comfortable although the hot water was tepid really. Dinner was good and breakfast was fine (cooked food was a little cold).

Beautiful Surroundings.
M Hotel is a very comfortable and spacious hotel, set in the picturesque town of Genk, overlooking the lake and next to beautiful parkland. Across the road we found an excellent shopping centre with good eateries. The surrounding suburb is green and peaceful. Walking was a pleasure. We were given a very large, spacious room with a balcony on an upper floor, looking over surrounding hills and across the lake. A delicious breakfast buffet was served daily downstairs against picture windows with a beautiful view. Having arrived from a long overseas flight, we were late for the first breakfast and were graciously served in the bar area. Our 5 days at M Hotel were truly enjoyable.

Staff are helpful and friendly.Fantastic location.The rooms are very clean.Very good restaurant and bar.Wifi was slow at times but it's free in all rooms.Stayed here eight times now and the only complaint we've had was that the fridge didn't work but it got sorted within an hour.

Would Stay Again
The check in was efficient and friendly. Our room was a good size as was the bathroom, tea and coffee provided which is always a nice touch. The hair dryer in the bathroom was no good at all but reception are aware of this and provided a spare one to take to the room. The room was a little plain but very comfortable and clean. We didn't eat in the hotel as there is plenty of cheaper alternatives all within a 10 min walk. We stayed due to the Champions League so the price was fair considering Genk is a small town. All in all would stay there again.
