The property itself is very dated. It felt like we were in a retirement place for people over 65\. Beach bar next-door was the only restaurant in the area open on a Sunday was not very good. At the time of our visit, the sargassum seaweed was all over all the beaches so they stunk from the rotting sargassum . They check-in is not very good as they have no central office. A caretaker of the building took care of our check-in. Language was a bit of a barrier. Don’t count on early check-in. Our particular room had a few maintenance issues as well." This private island is absolutely gorgeous. The beach alone makes it worth the visit. The rooms could use some updating, and the food felt more like filler food than anything memorable. That said, the drinks kept coming and the beach was easily the best we experienced anywhere on the island. If you want to avoid crowds and simply enjoy a stunning beach in a peaceful setting, this resort is a great choice. Unfortunately, you will need to wait for them to rebuild. The resort actually burned to the ground the same day we checked out. Quite a shocking end to an otherwise beautiful stay."
