The staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Short walk to downtown, which wasn't bad at all. Close to the bus station that takes you straight to Dublin also.

St. Jude's Lodge Galway

Posted 12-Aug-2016
Pros: The location was close to town
Cons: The furnishings, breakfast, beds, character of the owners.
Location: It was close to the town, which was good.
The reviews for this hotel incorrect as it was rated excellent. It was unattractive with an institutional feel and none of the character one expects from a B & B. The room was furnished with press board furnishings, the bathroom floor had a lot of cracks, the shower was slippery and there was no mat, no washcloths, one towel. There were no soaps or bath products, just a dispenser with a weird smelling soap in it. The floors were sticky, and the beds were uncomfortable. The facility itself had no "common room" where guests could go. The breakfast was served in a very unattractive room again with a very institutional feel. We thought breakfast was included as it had been in every B & B we have ever stayed in but there was an extra charge of 8 EUR per person which was far more than the breakfast was worth. The breakfast room was not staffed but the owner came in periodically to"check". The cost of 171 EUR was the most we paid for a B & B the entire 10 day trip and it was by far the worst experience. When we mentioned this to the owner that we thought we'd been overcharged, he became very hostile. It was the worst experience of our trip.

Guesthouse cómoda

Posted 01-Aug-2016

Walk to town.

Posted 10-Jul-2016
Pros: Room was very nice. BEds super comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice.
Location: 10 minute walk to City Center in Galway. Gret town, shopping, pubs. Short walk to the pier. Much closer than appears on the maps.
We stayed at the St. Judes Inn for an overnight to Galway. Very pleasant staff. Free parking.
