Checking in was easy but parking near the check in point was a bit challenging. Parking at the actual apartment was great.

It was a bit hard to park and go to the hotel to get the keys. Then after getting back to our car, we had to drive around the square again which had a lot of traffic to get to the apartment garage. You needed a fob to get in the garage to park at the apartments which is why it is like this. Apartment was clean and we had a large balcony which was nice. Traffic noise was bad a night; trash and street sweepers came very early waking us up. But that’s part of being in a city. In my opinion, the place was more like a college dorm as it had a lot of wear and tear; but we enjoyed our visit. It was large and roomy with two bedrooms and two baths and a separate kitchen, dining, living room area with the balcony. We had private garage parking as well, so all in all we were happy.
This apartment is super spacious, clean, bright, fully equipped with kitchen necessities and has floor to ceiling windows allowing lots of light and views. The bed was extremely comfortable! The location is perfectly ideal for visiting Galway! We walked everywhere.
Location, space and set up of the apartment was ideal. They had a travel cot ready for us on arrival. Parking was a perk and we visited the Western next door for an affordable breakfast. Very pleased.
I was pleasantly surprised how roomy and comfy this apartment was. The views were great and the parking along with security top notch. Check in was a bit confusing but shortly resolved. The only down side was the carpet was dated, soiled in spots and kinda smelly. Maybe wooden or floored tiles throughout would be more hygienic.
It was ok but for this price point and star rating, a few basic things were lacking that I would expect
- proper blackout curtains. A city light is left on all night which results in the front bedroom being very bright all night long.
- a larger bed. The master room is quite spacious yet they have a small double bed that sinks in the middle and is not very comfortable.
- a coffee maker. Kitchen is furnished but a coffee maker seems like a staple item that would make a difference. Nescafé doesn’t cut it for this price point.
- a few fans or some ventilation. The fresh air is lovely but at night it can be really noisy outside, so if you want a decent sleep you have to shut the windows. There is no ventilation in the apartment, just heaters. It gets really hot.
Also note that there is no daily housekeeping. These things just feel at odds with the 4 star rating and the premium pricing.
Modern apartment, with comfortable furniture. Combined washer/dryer a real plus, well-equipped kitchen - though would have been nice to have a coffee maker rather instant coffee and paper towels. Can hear street noise and seagulls if windows open. Convenient to bus station and all the historic sites, restaurants, pubs. Staff at Western Hotel, which manages the apartments, extremely nice and breakfast good value for the money.
Check in progress is a bit complicated & parking was not as easy when checking in & out.
The property is absolutely wonderful. We will stay here again when we come back!
Apartment was great. Clean & well equipped. Great location, close to Latin Quarter, the bus and train stations. Check in and out was simple and staff was super nice and helpful.
This apartment is exceptionally beautiful! Great for a longer stay with full kitchen, laundry and space!
The parking was accessible, however, difficult to find street parking prior to enable a smooth check-in. However, After check out, The Western Hotel allowed us parking in their site so we could continue to roam around prior to leaving the city - greatly appreciated.
No A/C so we left the windows open (July travels) in which all of the seagulls of Galway sang and yelled all night long …
Location is amazing to get to Quay street, staff were super nice and excellent with communication via expedia messaging, I would recommend this stay!
This property was absolutely beautiful. The views of Galway from the windows and the balcony was to die for. We would definitely stay here again. Apartment was also conveniently located in the city center.

Disliked: Check-in
There was no fitted sheet on the bed, flat sheet was used to cover the mattress but meant sleeping in the hot weather was very uncomfortable
Blinds in the primary bedroom were low quality and let in way too much light
City noise was very loud and disruptive
You need to get the keys to the apartment across the street at the hotel. Aside from that, the staff was friendly and the place was clean and spacious.
We enjoyed our stay at City Point Apartment overall. The location was excellent—within walking distance of all the main attractions, restaurants, and shops we wanted to visit. The apartment had a beautiful view, was spacious, and the living area was clean and comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep.
Traveling with a toddler, we especially appreciated having access to both a kitchen and laundry facilities. These amenities made our stay much more convenient and helped us feel at home.
There were a few drawbacks that prevented this from being a 5-star stay. The bathroom and getting-ready area had an unusual layout and lacked adequate space for toiletries and personal items. We also discovered a hardened booger smeared on the bedding when we got into bed on our first night, which was disappointing and raised concerns about the housekeeping standards.
Parking was another challenge. It was somewhat difficult to locate initially, and the process required checking in at the hotel first and then moving the car to a nearby lot to access the apartment.
Despite these issues, the apartment’s fantastic location, spacious layout, great view, and family-friendly amenities made for an enjoyable stay. We would consider staying here again, particularly for the convenience of being so close to everything.
Unbelievable location. Great apartment. Staff is extremely responsive. Trouble with the washer/dryer, but it was resolved. Could have used a few more towels and TP, but the staff took care of it quickly. Cannot stress the location enough. Highly recomend a stay there.
I put a “3” for price/value, and maybe that’s not fair since hotels in Ireland are Switzerland+ levels of expensive. But the location is great, the apartment is as advertised, and I got my laundry done without having to go to a laundromat, which was the point.
We stayed two nights at CityPoint Apartments. Pros: It is conveniently located to all of the things you want to enjoy when visiting Galway. The apartment is clean, has a washer/dryer, and you can see all the way to the bay. We felt safe in the area and inside the apartment. It has a lift. Staff were very friendly. Cons: Our bed was hard and (for us) uncomfortable, and it only had 3 flat pillows (really needs a mattress topper and 2 pillows per person). No in-room safe if you would like to store your passports and other valuables.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Street noise was overwhelming making it difficult to sleep. Bands played until 2am. Rooms are not sound proofed. Check in was terrible at the western hotel. The map to city point apt was not to scale , missing streets and difficult to follow. The front desk instructions were brief unclear and misleading. The front desk personnel were uncaring and dismissive . The “white line” at the car park exit is so worn out that it can’t be seen , and not explained that you have to walk 10 meters to swipe the key fob to open the gate. Would definitely not stay here again
Dryer In apartment 3 didn’t work. Clothes never dry after 5 hours. After check out and leaving car park and having to return to front desk to return key fob is a problem.
It was excellent location to transportation, tours, buses and central to everything. Loved the washer and drier! The apartment had a lovely terrace as well.
