We stayed here on the first night of a 6-day road trip from Tucson, AZ to Ann Arbor, MI. From check-in to check-out, this was a great experience. Right off of I-40, parking is plentiful, a Cracker Barrel is across the parking lot, an Applebee’s just down the way gives a discount to CI guests, a Walmart is within walking distance, and the rate we booked through Expedia was almost sinfully inexpensive. The young woman at the front desk handled everyone efficiently with a smile on her face. There’s an elevator so you don’t have to schlep all your stuff up the stairs. Our room was scrupulously clean and very quiet. Of course, there was a coffeepot, microwave and mini-fridge, plenty of outlets, and free WiFi. The bed and pillows were just fine, good water pressure in the shower -- one picky criticism; the towels were a little threadbare. By any standard, the hot breakfast the next morning was good -- scrambled eggs, sausage, two varieties of fresh waffles (that you make yourself), fresh sweet rolls, and a toaster for bagels, english muffins, etc. Add cold cereals, hot oatmeal and fresh fruit, and you’ve got a breakfast for any champion. The best part of the whole stay -- was getting to meet Della. On duty when we came down, she couldn’t have been more helpful and sincerely friendly. Della insisted on waiting on us even though it’s a self-service arrangement, and told us wonderful stories about her family. She’s a beautiful lady who started our day with sunshine despite the snow.
