we stayed at "Il Melograno" for 13 fantastic days. Paola is an open hearted and adorable person. it was a pleasure to meet her. we had a couple of very interesting talks with her father Carlo. He and his wife cruised all of Europe on his motorbike! we felt more like family than just guest :-)
the house itself was a diamond! Paola is very creativ and you can see her love for the detail everywhere. we had "la Natura" and we loved it, because the terrace was just next to the kitchen, so it was very easy to eat outside. We also loved the pool and the garden with the apple, pear and fig trees. The whole place is a beauty!
Gallicano is a nice little village and definetly worth to visit. There a two Restaurants "Eliseo" and "da Ale". Both are very good. At "da Ale" you can have Pizza to go. Everything is within walking distance. And it is a good start to do some hiking excursions. It has a wonderful nature!
My husband loves to travel by train, so we made our way to Cinque Terre from the train station Barga-Gallicano. It is just 5 Minutes away. It took us maybe 45 Minutes longer, but it was a nice trip. You can also go to Pisa, Lucca and Firenze by train easily. The tickets are very cheap and easy to buy from the machine via card.
we are so happy we found Il Melograno. there is just left to say:
GraZie MiLLe per tutto. Arrivederci a presto :-)
