Gaelic Athletic Association Museum

My stay in an all-female room with four beds was comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. The noise from the street was a bit much, especially the neighborhood dog that barked at different hours of the night (should have brought my ear plugs). It was Halloween night, so this was probably the reason. Be prepared to go up and down multiple flights of stairs. The all-female bathrooms were clean and spacious as where the showers, but it was impractical to go down a flight of stairs to get there. I was told new bathrooms will be installed on the second floor. The reception area needs an aesthetic revamp. I was able to leave my luggage in a secure area after checking out, this was a plus for me. A bus stop and convenience store is less than half a block away (another plus). It took me 20 to 25 minutes to walk to the Molly Malone statue, which IMO wasn't too bad. Don't lose your key card or you'll be charged $20. The staff was great. I would probably stay there again in the future.

Clean room, helpful friendly staff, hot tub and pool were great. The room felt a little muggy but the fan was a nice touch!

I'm not sure if I was trolled by this property. I had asked for a "quieter" room on the top floor in my booking request and was told pretty quickly that it was "approved". Unfortunately, when I arrived (within 30 minutes of the opening of check-in time) I was given a room on the middle floor, directly across from the elevator and stairs for the entire property. As expected, it was loud, from above and both sides and from people coming to and from the stairs (like, had to turn up the TV to hear it over the noise kind of loud). I am unsure if all the rooms are this loud because I can only review what I was given. The rugs were taped down on the edges with masking tape, and were pretty dirty - it was a shoes-on kind of place, but otherwise it was clean and adequately sized with dated/damaged decor. The walls are thin, there was a family with small childern next to me at one point, and the housekeeping routine noise in the AM does not allow for any kind of "sleeping in" in the morning. Reception never actually had anyone present at any point when I came or went from the property. The property itself is well-located if you're needing something near UCD as I was. There are few options this close to UCD, but I'm not sure I would stay here again given my personal experience. I'd say good value for money if you're not as annoyed with the same kind of issues I encountered.
