Newly opened in October/2017, this fine Villa has a delightful terrace and a heated pool for sunbathing and enjoying the views over Funchal Bay. Well located, walking distance from city center, beaches, main sightseeing’s and 25 mts from famous Levada dos Piornais. THE VILLA Villa Alvinho is located in a privileged residential area, without traffic, close by the sea and a few minutes from Funchal city center and its touristic area. It is also where “Levada dos Piornais” pass through, one of the most famous and ancient trekking paths of the island which connects its two largest municipalities (Funchal and Câmara de Lobos), offering the perfect combination of “Lifestyle&Nature”. Located just above "Quinta da Casa Branca", one of the most beautiful and luxurious boutique hotels on the island, Villa surroundings offers a wide range of restaurants, bars, easy access to public transportation and all facilities (supermarkets, banks, shopping centers, casino, rent a cars, cinemas, etc.). Between the city and the countryside, Villa Alvinho is part of "SOUL Madeira - charming villas" collection and was designed exclusively for tourism. This charming Villa was prepared with care to receive families, couples or groups of friends who want to visit and explore Madeira Island. Guests will have at their disposal a Villa that offers privacy, large and comfortable spaces in an intimate atmosphere, a hipchic style decoration and beautiful views of Funchal sea and Desertas Islands. Dining on your outdoor terrace or swimming in your heated pool while enjoying the scenery will be unforgettable experiences. The perfect hideaway to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of this paradise that is Madeira but following the local lifestyle. INSIDE: Its interior is very spacious, with a living room with entrance hall, 3 suites, 4 WC's and 1 fully equipped kitchen with laundry. On the 1st floor there are two suites with balconies: one facing north/mountains and another facing south/sea. The third suite is on the ground floor with direct access to the terrace and living room. The Villa has a large fully glassed living room facing the swimming pool and Atlantic Ocean. The kitchen follows an American style (open to the living room) and was designed to enhance the conviviality among guests while they cook and relax. The dining area has a long dining table that seats 8 people and a counter connecting the kitchen, the perfect solution for a get-together in an environment that invites dialogue and socialization. Kitchen style is modern with some retro elements and is fully equipped. The kitchen is also connected to the barbecue area through an interior window in order to make food and drinks logistics more easy. There is also a completed laundry room. OUTSIDE: The terrace and garden are facing south with excellent sun exposure, spacious and with panoramic views over Funchal Bay and Desertas islands. In addition to the "Laurissilva", the garden has a small area where you can pick spices and herbs for cooking. The Villa offers several sun loungers, hammocks and lounges to relax, enjoy al fresco dining and make the most of your holiday. Private heated pool (24h access) with an external hot water shower (28ºC). Fully equipped outdoor barbecue with firewood included. Villa Alvinho has Direct car access from the main street. AT GUESTS' DISPOSAL: As a courtesy, Villa Alvinho offers you a small welcome basket with some products (bread, water, milk, tea, butter, cheese, ham ...) and a regional wine. All linen and towels are provided, including pool towels. For stays longer than one week, an intermediate cleaning is provided free of charge for each week. All children are welcome. The house is ready to receive them and we have a baby crib and a baby chair available (upon prior consultation). The house was clean, the kitchen was well appointed, and the beds were comfortable. Having a pool to enjoy was a nice benefit. The walk to and from town was very hilly, which was enjoyable most of thetime. But Bolt was super easy to use and not expensive. It was a pleasure to stay there and using the heated pool every day. The location is very good since several restaurants and small shops are only few minutes a walk a way. The property was excellent. It was just as advertised. Our grandchildren loved the pool and the adults loved the views. It is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We found it easy to walk downhill to the shops. It would be a steep walk getting back but there are several taxi ranks in town and that’s how we returned. The kitchen is very well equipped. Pool and terrace are well maintanined - there is wood for the outdoor grill with a complete outdoor kitchen. The location is 8min by car from Funchal, a big supermarket is also 7min by car from the house. It is a quite neighborhood with a very nice view on the ocean. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable hassle free stay has been included. We particularly loved the pool, which is possibly the warmest we have ever swum in, and the fabulous views over Funchal bay. Despite not hiring a car, we managed to get around quite easily. The No. 45 bus approx. 200 meters walk behind the villa runs every 20-30 minutes into Funchal, and a taxi back from the Lido area was around 7euros. Also for tours around the island try Madeira-Island Taxis, very reasonable at 60euros for a 4-5 hour private tour. We had wonderful support from Clementina and Rui (the owners) throughout our stay, who were very generous hosts. Highly recommended. ##### Michael F. Es gibt einen großzügigen Wohn-Essbereich und eine hervorragend ausgestattete Küche mit Induktionsherd. Draußen gibt es genügend Liegen und auch vier gemütliche Sitzgelegenheiten sowie einen großen, Grill und genügend Holz für tolle Barbequeabende. Die Kommunikation mit Joana war angenehm und die wöchentliche Zwischenreinigung mit Handtuch- und Wäschewechsel hat uns ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Wir haben auch kurz den Besitzer kennengelernt, er war ebenfalls sehr sympatisch. Im Juli/August kann es heiß auf Madeira werden und in den Schlafzimmern wird es dann schnell warm. Eigentlich kein Problem, denn man könnte einfach nachts die Fenster offen lassen und die Räume wären optimal belüftet. Dies ist aber leider nicht möglich, weil man dann von Mücken gestochen wird (wir hatten jeder über 30 Mückenstiche und es gibt keine Mückennetze) und der Nachbarhahn kräht ab 6:00 Uhr morgens laut und unentwegt. Beides (Mücken und Nachbarhahn) haben die Vermieter selbstverständlich nicht zu verantworten. Mit Repellent und Ohrstöpseln haben wir uns gut abgeholfen. Worüber wir uns aber wirklich geärgert haben war die Aussicht. Die Fotos in der Annonce sind sehr geschickt aufgenommen, denn man kann auf keinem der Fotos das große Hotel (mit mindestens 8 Etagen und Rooftop-Pool) sehen, welches unmittelbar mit dutzenden Balkonen in Richtung der Villa im direkten Sichtfeld zum Meer liegt. Es ist einfach unserer Meinung nach nicht in Ordnung, das man diese erhebliche Einschränkung auf den Fotos so darstellt, als wäre die Sicht ungetrübt. Gerade wenn man als Urlauber viel Wert auf Privatsphäre und auf eine freie Sicht legt, sollte man sich dessen bewusst sein. ##### Dariusch M. It has lovely gardens and a nice pool with good garden furniture. It also has some lovely views and it is not too far to walk to some good restaurants and bars. However sadly all of this great stuff is let down by the constant noise from the building work on the adjacent property with constant drilling, banging and other construction noise from 8am every day.
