A unique opportunity to become a citizen of the historical and artistic center of the town. Ideal for occupation by groups of between 2 to 6 people. We are pleased to offer a free airport pick-up, fresh fruit and a bottle of excellent Portuguese wine for guests who book our house for longer than 5 days The spacious multi-level apartment is situated in the heart of Funchal just two steps from the Cathedral and 3 minutes from the ocean. Professionally interior designed in the tradition of Portuguese-style notes, but with the amenities of a modern home, the apartment feels like the heart of the art life of the capital. The apartment, with its own street entrance, is part of the Funchalet art gallery, which is located on the ground floor in the same building. In a small special attic of the house is an artist´s workshop, where guests can enjoy the creativity of old Funchal and even draw at their leisure. The house can comfortably receive families or friends up to 6 people. It offers a main bedroom suite with a large veranda and adjoining bathroom, a further bedroom for two people with private bathroom, and a first floor living room studio with a fully equipped kitchenette, dining area and comfortable sofa bed. The top floor workshop-lounge area has its own balcony and a view of the historic area of Funchal. All the floors are separated by a stunning spiral staircase hallway, but which could possibly create difficulties for some persons with disabilities. Similarly, we do not recommend families with small children booking with us. We allow guests with small pets. The nearest cafeteria for breakfast or lunch, 3 meters from the house. Breakfast is 5 euros per person, dinner from 5 euros. The nearest supermarket, 100 meters. The nearest free beach, 850 meters or 10 minutes of walking speed. Paid beach of 1400 meters or 17 minute walk. The cost of 1.5 euros per person per day. Within a radius of 300 meters are a huge range of well-favored restaurants and cafes. Just a couple of minutes from our house there is a bus stop. You can quickly reach the airport. Also in seven minutes there is a city bus station. You can organize yourself a great tour of the island, using public transport. Our house does not have its own parking lot, but there are many possibilities to park the car next to it. After seven in the evening and until eight in the morning you can park your car for free at the municipal parking lot, it's only half a minute from our house. For a short time, after seven in the evening and until ten in the morning you can park the car right next to the house. In addition, not far, about 6 minutes walk has a city parking, where you can leave the car until the morning for 4 euros. Our plane was an hour late and Alex was right there waiting for us! He was very welcoming with little gifts and good advice for getting around the city. The apartment was exactly as described, maybe even better. It is right in the perfect location for exploring the city but after 10 pm, it was pin drop quiet. The kitchen was perfect for people wanting to self cater. It even has a dishwasher and they have some kitchen essentials to get you started cooking your alfresco meals. We were really happy to have a washing machine too. The apartment really has a lot of the comforts of home. It doesn't feel like a vacation rental but more like a luxury private weekend home. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war gut. Die Lage des Häuschens war gut. Frühmorgens war es etwas laut, da der Gemüsehändler gegenüber recht laut seine Aufbauten für den Tag vor seinen Laden gestellt hat. Abends wurde manchmal noch recht laut gesungen und geredet im Restaurant gegenüber - gegen 23.30 war aber spätestens Ruhe. Man hatte keinen Liegestuhl auf der Terasse, so dass man nicht so gut draußen relaxen konnte. Die Terasse war bis zum frühen Nachmittag im Schatten, so dass wir in Ruhe draußen frühstücken konnten. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist mittelmäßig - aber die nötigsten Dinge sind da. Eine Schüssel und Müslischalen wurden vom Vermieter gleich am 1\. Tag nachgereicht. Wir waren zu viert im Haus - für mehr reicht der Platz nicht. Auf dem Sofa haben nur 3 Platz und der Sessel von oben reicht dann für die 4\. Person. Insgesamt haben wir uns wohl gefühlt, da man vom Häuschen alles gut erreichen kann und die Insel wunderschön ist. ##### Kerstin B. Equipement très complet et moderne dans la cuisine et les salles de bain. Tout est fourni par les propriétaires y compris les ingrédients de base pour la cuisine. L'appartement est dans le centre ville donc tous les commerces et les transports sont facilement accessibles. La musique du restaurant en face peut être un peu gênante la journée mais s'arrête tôt le soir et on entend pas du tout les bruits de circulation. Pas de problème donc pour bien dormir. From the beginning, I felt something at home. Behold, the starting and ending place of the studio on the top floor was filled with comfort and a sense of art. Initial fears proved unnecessary stairs, stairs quite comfortable .Maybe , it would probably be difficult to stay here with small children. Near everything ... you need for comfort and night life ... you can hear the ships depart for the evening and see the ocean and mountain from the top terraces. I will definitely come.
