"I was torn on rating this property 3 or 4 stars. I went with 3 purely based on some issues that I read about in the previous reviews that I'd hope were addressed, but were not fully resolved. I would like to start with all of the positives. The property was depicted exactly as it is in the listing, which I greatly appreciated. The inside of the home was immaculately clean. Whoever the cleaning crew is should really be recognized. The proximity to the water/private dock was really what made our stay. If it had been warmer, there was a perfect swimming area cut out under a small waterfall. The water was blue/green and clear. Beautiful. We fished the entire stay. You can even see the fish in front of you in the water. Unfortunately, after entering the downstairs, we immediately noticed the smell of mold. There are dehumidifiers running but it was very bothersome for our allergies and our son who has asthma. And although the home was incredibly clean, we did find mouse poop on the beds that our kids were to sleep in (which we cannot blame on the cleanig crew, clearly). We also had to hear the mice run the bedroom in the night. I did not sleep well. Other than the downfalls, I really appreciated the customer service of Vacasa. We did not bring our dogs but in the entry way they even had a welcome station for the doggies with bowls and towels. That was such a nice touch. And I always felt if anything was wrong they were very accessible. "

"Host chose not to honor my reservation and stated that VRBO said I was a high risk. Host also made it clear he had the right to deny anyone. I have a 5 star review. I have rented many places all over the east coast. And never been turned away. This nearly disrupted the plans we had for the weekend, where we spent Hundreds of dollars on the local wineries and the wind mill. Thankfully, VRBO RETURNED our money and discounted the place we did stay at. which was directly a crossed the lake from this place. I come to the area frequently to visit family. I am always looking for a place to stay while in the area. I have certainly removed this one from my favorites. I normally do not give bad reviews, I am a pretty positive person. But this was un called for leaving me feeling like I had done something wrong. STOP JUDGING A BOOK BY ITS COVER. The ending can always be the truth of the story. Thank you VRBO for making the situation better as fast as you did. "

"We were very pleased with our stay. Most important, it was CLEAN. The 4 bedrooms worked perfectly for our 6 adults and 4 kids under 10. The bedroom with bunks doubled as a play room with toys suitable for this age group. The laundry room toilet helped in a pinch. The living areas downstairs are all large - kitchen, eating area, and two living / sitting rooms. It was too cold during our stay to take advantage of the enclosed porch looking out over the lake but we imagine doing so with a cup of coffee or glass of wine would be very pleasant. Tons of wineries and a brewery are close by, with the village of Watkins Glen a short drive. I used the EV charger, a nice touch. Jason is very accommodating and incredibly responsive. "
