Dreamcatcher Eco Lodge - Adults Only

Dreamcatcher Eco Lodge - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent
"The property is quaint and so very charming with a eclectic theme throughout. You may have a chance to say hello to the resident cats and dogs, plus see ducks, and howler monkeys lying g about in the trees overhead. It is quiet, relaxing and welcoming. The best thing about the entire stay is the food. The proprietor is a delightful chef and you can tell, she loves to cook. With a nice menu, she definitely goes to great lengths to make a meal you are sure to enjoy. You must try different things but evening pasta or a tomahawk steak cannot be overlooked! We will return to this property when visiting Rio Dulce again."

Cute & Cozy Caribbean Cabin on a farm.

Cute & Cozy Caribbean Cabin on a farm.

10/10 Excellent
"Great communication. Eugenio was on holiday and still made contact and arranged pickup from his son Andy when we got off the bus. They bought in water and groceries for our stay. The cabin is located away from the town so noise is minimal. All utilities we needed were there for cooking. The outside deck and furniture made for a beautiful location for meals which also allowed you to enjoy the wildlife coming and going from the garden. We enjoyed hummingbirds, woodpecker all varieties of birds and fireflies at night. Beautiful location, great host, definitely recommend."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Fronteras?
The best time to visit Fronteras is during the dry season, which runs from November to May.During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny days and lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the Rio Dulce and its surroundings. The river levels are also typically more stable, which is great for boat trips and accessing attractions like the Castillo de San Felipe. This period avoids the heavier rains that can sometimes disrupt travel plans or make outdoor activities less comfortable. For those who enjoy a slightly cooler climate and prefer fewer crowds, the shoulder months of November and May are particularly pleasant. You still get excellent weather but with a more relaxed feel before or after the peak tourist season. This can be superb for couples looking for a peaceful escape. If you're interested in sailing or longer boat excursions, the dry season offers the most reliable conditions.
