Great Stay at Marsh Mellow

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marsh Mellow! The location was perfect for our bird watching activities, and the owner was very responsive when I needed to reach her. I would definitely recommend Marsh Mellow and would stay there again when back in the area!

Amazing stay, will return!

10/10 experience staying here. Jackie is a wonderful host and had great communication throughout the stay. The property was very clean and perfect for a lowkey girls weekend! Plenty to do around town and the beach is just a short drive away. Very peaceful. Would love to return again sometime!

Nice stay even in a hurricane...

Very nice and clean. Jackie was wonderful to deal with. Had a great week even with sharing it with Hurrican Debby... No complaints. Highly recommend staying here!

Great Stay

Property exceeded expectations, very clean and comfortable. Very spacious and the sun room made for great scenery. Location is great, short trip to either end of the island. Host was very accommodating and communicative, would definitely stay again.

Elegant, Charming, Comfortable and Cozy

The property is beautiful from the grounds to the views and the living spaces. The host, Jackie, added special touches, including a welcome snack on our arrival to providing all the comforts of home. Our visit was brief but we hope to return to Marsh Mellow in the future.

Great getaway in obx

Serene Bay Stay

Lovely place inside and out. Absolutely spotless when we arrived. Jackie was friendly and had awesome amenities for us. The view was amazing and we saw many frogs and even a gecko. You’ll wish you booked a longer stay!

Beautiful place to stay! So quiet and comfortable. Nicely furnished with everything you need. Plenty of places to eat close by. You can go to the beach, nearby attractions or take a nice break at the Marsh Mellow. It’s perfect!

Relaxing

A friend and I wanted to take a trip together like we use to. Neither of us had been to the Outer Banks so that’s where we went. Angie was very helpful and she had several suggestions for places to ear and sightseeing. The apartment was very clean and decorated lovely. We would go back there again.

Senior Special

This was a beautiful place, especially for seniors—no steps and a lot of throw blankets to keep us warm. The place had a big bedroom with a comfortable bed and the living room was beautiful decorated and with a huge bathroom. Our hostess with above in accommodating us when our grand children came and stayed one night. The apartment is well stocked with everything you would need if you wanted to eat in.

Bay beach oasis

Clean, beautiful, and minutes away from the beach. Jackie was a wonderful host and went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable. We couldn’t find the grill, and when we came back from the beach Jackie surprised us with a new grill on the patio and a plate of seafood appetizers. Just an example of what an amazing host she is. We would feel lucky to come back!

Green oasis

Beautiful private space with a great marsh view. Loved watching herons and osprey in the marsh. Great book selections for a rainy day in, and very convenient to beach access, sound access, good local restaurants. Comfortable bed and everything needed to cook simple meals, even cookies and k-cups supplied, which was great for arrival after a busy morning! So nice to have an outside hose available to rinse off sandy feet. Easy parking for our full-size truck and very responsive host. Loved our short stay and looking forward to returning for longer someday!

Beautiful tranquil retreat

The view was beatiful, the apartment was private, quiet and clean. Jackie provided anything you could imagine even a platter of goodies to eat as we arrived early evening and the resturants close early. Ther were egrets and and great blue herons outside our window.

Great little place on Hatteras

Very cute one bedroom apartment. Essentially the first floor of a house with a hallway, kitchenette, large living room, outdoor deck, screened porch, very cute sun room and good sized bedroom and bathroom. My wife and I stayed here for 4 days while driving off road around the Hatteras seashore and it was perfect for us. The place comes with a private parking spot and is almost equidistant between Buxton and Frisco. Really nice place in a quiet neighborhood.

Simply awesome!!

Wife and I stayed here for only one night before our weekly OBX rental in Frisco, what a true gem this place was, and what a wonderful host Jackie was!!! The communication was great and so the check in process was seamless. The apartment itself was spotless and really charming. We will really consider coming back here for a few night stay. The unit was equipped with everything we needed and more, and it was so pleasant spending the morning relaxing in the solarium and enjoying the marsh. There is nothing negative I can say about our stay here and to be honest, our host was extremely gracious with us. So happy we booked Marsh Mellow, if you’re considering it, you will be glad to have booked it as well!

Phenomenal place and stay

Exceptional stay! Made my bucket list trip to OBX a trip come true!! On a scale of 1-10, this is an 11.This apartment is everything in the listing and more! Wonderful and gracious hosts; beautiful surroundings. Exceptionally clean, cozy, private, and quiet! Comfortably furnished with so many little touches like you're at home (even a small personal fan, as well as a ceiling fan in the livingroom). View wildlife and beautiful sunsets from inside the atrium; or even better sunsets, from a short walk to the sound-side secluded beach (bring mosquitoe spray!!!, [which Jackie even supplied in the spacious, and equipped bathroom]). You can cook on the gas grill, and/or make ahead/buy main and side entrees to store in the midsized freezer/fridge to heat in the microwave, and eat at the table in the atrium. Regular and disposable dishes provided. Extras in the fridge, compliments of the hosts! Perfect place for a romantic getaway, especially in fall/winter with the gas fireplace. Exceptional pricing for what you get! Don't hesitate to book it! (Or maybe you shouldn't, so it's available when I want to book it again! LOL!) I hope to do so again soon! Beautiful apartment

The apartment is spacious, very well-equipped, clean and has somewhat of an obstructed marsh and sound view. We constantly had problems with the bathroom plumbing which the owner did address somewhat by purchasing a container of draino but my husband had to attend to it daily; not what he wanted to do on a vacation. The owner did ask that if dishes, glassware, etc. are used to wash all items upon vacating. Fortunately, we were careful not to use too many since all had to be washed in the bathroom sink. Plenty of beverages were provided and a full-size frig was great. The overall outside of the property was somewhat unkempt so views of the marsh and sound were barely visible. It is not walkable to shops or restaurants as was a narrow two-lane road with no shoulder.
