Upon entering this historic property, you'll notice it is appropriately named The Stone Well Haus because of the well located in the living room. Although the well was previously located on the back porch, it wasn't uncommon for homes to have indoor cisterns to have access to fresh water. Expertly restored in 2016, the well is now covered and used as an end table and conversational centerpiece in the large open concept living, dining, and kitchen area. With plenty of windows to the back yard, this makes it the ideal place for entertaining both indoors and out. The house is perfectly furnished throughout with a mix of modern furnishings and the owner's family antiques including a loom built in 1879 and a pie safe made by your hostess's great great grandfather. The master bedroom offers the perfect retreat with an iron king size bed and neutral linens with an en suite bath. Located up the original wood staircase are the other two bedrooms, second full bath, and writer's nook. The second King suite is large enough to be a second master and just as tranquil with a bath right outside the room. Two charming twin beds are located in the third bedroom providing a perfect haven for kids or additional guests. The Stone Well Haus is also the perfect place for Fido! Your hosts have provided everything they might need including dog crates, bowls, and a fenced in yard making it the optimal getaway for everyone. The home is dog-friendly and will accept up to two dogs. However, there is a pet fee of $17/dog/night (before tax). Due to the fact that HomeAway/VRBO does not allow us to charge for more than one dog at the time of booking, please let us know if you will be bringing more than one dog, so that we can make sure that you are charged the correct amount. If you bring more than one dog and do not let us know, you will be charged accordingly. Furthermore, please bring crates for your dogs and crate them in your absence from the house, do not allow the dogs on furniture or beds, and pick up and properly dispose of their waste. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation. House Rules as Required by the City of Fredericksburg's Short Term Rental Ordinance \- Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). \- The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. A bedroom for each couple and one for the kids. It was nicely appointed and we had everything we needed including snacks and dishes. The upstairs bedrooms are on different sides of the stairs which allowed for some privacy from the kids which was nice. My party had to sleep on air mattresses on the floor when I had specifically chosen this home to accommodate my entire party. Myself and 5 other girls stayed for the weekend and we all wanted to remodel our houses like this one. Very nice inside and out with plenty of room. We have stayed in various Sunday Houses but the Stone Well will be the home we keep coming back to. We loved everything about the home. It's spacious and clean, has great amenities and is in a charming old neighborhood a short walk from Main Street. Being able to bring our dogs made it extra special. ##### Andrew S. The location is so convenient to walk to Main Street and the house is ideal for a group of 6 People. The beds are comfortable, the house is always clean and cute. I do wish there was more of an L shaped couch in the living room for hanging out and watching movies, as we always do that one night when we are there. The chairs are pretty small to get comfortable in. But overall, I would rent this place again! ##### Lauren G.
