The houses are all charmingly and eloquently decorated for Christmas...don't miss out on this magical time of the year in Fredericksburg! The Sieben Salthaus is located just 8 minutes from Main Street on a private, gated ranch. This great guest house is designed (The Savant Home from Austin, Texas) with charm and comfort as the main priorities for gatherings both large and small. Comprised of a full spacious kitchen, dining room, family room, breakfast area and 4 bedrooms with ample sleeping arrangements, you can comfortably house and entertain your guests. Two morning coffee stations await you, or feel free to cook up tasty meals after you stock up in town. With impeccable attention to design & comfort detail, you'll greatly enjoy your stay here. On the lower level, you'll find the Dining Room, Family Room, Kitchen, Full Bathroom, King Bedroom and Queen Bedroom. The King Bedroom features a delightful sitting area and a memory foam roll away twin size bed if needed for any younger, handicapped guest or guests who are unable to climb stairs. The main kitchen is a full size kitchen with full size appliances and just about every other appliance and convenience you'd find necessary at home: coffee station with coffee bean grinder, Crock Pot/Slow Cooker, Electric skillet to serve up a large country breakfast or dinner for a dozen, 4 slice toaster, and more. The bathroom is adorable, well furnished and has a nice relaxing shower/tub. The lower level also contains a washer and dryer for the house. The upper level is accessible by the outside stairway and includes a large living area with two Queen size beds and a relaxing sitting area. This level also features a kitchenette with sink, under-counter refrigerator and microwave oven. Off the kitchenette is a beautiful bathroom with a 6' whirlpool tub and skylight. Beyond the kitchenette is a large bedroom with three comfy Twin beds and a two-person vanity area. The flooring is 12" wood plank, stained and linseed oil-finished. Legacy Ranch Guest Houses sits on 12 gated and private acres just 8 minutes from Main St in Fredericksburg. If you choose to book the entire property, not just the Sieben Salthaus, Legacy Ranch sleeps 24. HISTORY OF THE SIEBEN SALTHAUS: The two story home was completed in 1998 is a replica of a 1880's German-style salt box. Impeccable attention was paid to the exterior and interior during instruction all the way down to the double scallop antique wire fence set on antique cedar posts which, like the fencing for the Dr. Okerholm Loghaus, came from the LBJ Ranch near Stonewall. The house is arranged as two separate living areas though we choose to reserve them together. The Sieben (German for Seven) Salt Box Haus is named after the Mother, Father and five children of the Okerholm family who own and operate Legacy Ranch. THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: Due to safety reasons, we are no longer able to host children under age 12\. No exceptions. All persons in your party must be accounted for in the guest count, no exceptions. Guests found in violation of booking rules will have their reservation terminated immediately and cancellation rules will be exercised. Also, should your guest list change, please inform us of your guest list change(s) ASAP so you may receive a credit for less guests or potentially make a payment for the additional guests. Within 24 hours of making the reservation, we require the person making the reservation provide host a clear copy of a valid government issued ID of all guests 18 years old and over. Please provide copies of the ID's in the VRBO messenger or text them to us. We are no longer allowing bachelorette parties unless the group consists of at least three generations of ladies. Unfortunately we’ve experienced far too many issues with bachelorette groups of ladies in their 20’s. When Moms and grandmas are present, the experience is better for both host and guests. Thank you for understanding. The gorgeous chapel is complete and Legacy Ranch will be hosting weddings (wedding day or a wedding weekend) for up to 100 wedding day guests, 24 wedding weekend guests across all three houses! Please note the chapel is closed to guests without Legacy Ranch staff present. Until the Covid pandemic is over and potential international travel restrictions are no longer a risk, we will not be able to host guests who do not live within the United States. DO NOT BOOK if you will be traveling internationally in order to arrive at our guest house. You will be required to cancel within 1 hour and your reservation will be refunded 100%. NO INTERNATIONAL GUESTS. The front gate is always kept closed for your privacy and security. Prior to check in, you will receive the gate code. Additionally, each house has it's own access code which you will receive prior to check-in. UPDATE 12/30/18- Please take no offense, but each paragraph below is a result of a prior incident or situation from prior reservations. We apologize in advance for the lengthy rules and points we didn’t think we’d have to consider or share with future guests: NUMBER OF GUESTS/SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: We are usually on property. Do not make your stay with us awkward for everyone and book for an inaccurate number of guests. It is not a victimless occurrence. We, the property owners, know the limits of our utilities for both water well pressure and septic system drainage, not to mention the comfort accommodations deserving by each member of your party. For sanitary reasons, no guests are to sleep anywhere other than on beds (no sofa sleeping). Any guests found to be violating the booking number by hosting more people than what the reservation was made for will be escorted off property, the listing host service will immediately be notified and your trip and monies will be forfeited due to booking violations. If at the time of your booking you expected 4 people were coming, but now you’re expecting 6, please let us know so your booking is accurate ahead of your arrival. If you were expecting 6 and now 8 are coming, please let us know as we may be able to modify your reservation to a more accommodating house for the comfort of your group and for the integrity of the property and subsequent guests. If you were expecting 6 and only 4 showed up (which is verifiable), we will happily refund your overpayment. PARKING: Due to underground utilities, driving or parking on grassy areas is prohibited. Parking or driving on grassy areas just feet away from paved areas places expensive plumbing and septic significantly at risk of thousands of dollars in damages. Repair fees will be passed along to the guest who incurred them. PARK ON PAVED AREAS ONLY. THEFT/”BORROWING” FROM OTHER HOUSES: We presently have three guest houses on property. Unless you book multiple houses, the other houses and their amenities are not for your enjoyment. Do not remove firewood, furniture or anything else you find useful from another guest house for your stay without our prior consent. Just because no one is present now doesn’t mean they won’t be arriving later. Each of our houses are stocked inside and out in preparation for the next guest. Permission is always required, forgiveness can be given, but requires additional billing. FIREWOOD: If your guest house has a firepit, we stock enough firewood, fire starter and starter logs for one 4+ hour fire. If you and your guests like to burn through wood rapidly or enjoy a long-burning fire, we recommend you bring additional firewood or purchase firewood in town. Due to risk of wildfire, please check the weather ahead of starting your fire. Never burn when it’s breezy and never leave a firepit unattended. Burning during burn bans is a prosecutable offense. GUESTS RE-DESIGNING OUR PROPERTY: Under no certain terms are you or any members of your party to assist in modifying our landscape or design of our houses. (No cutting of trees, rearranging furniture for your personal desires with the exception of chairs to accommodate your guests). Any outside furniture is intended to stay outside. Indoor furniture, pillows of any kind and white linens of any kind are never to be taken to be used outdoors. ADDITIONAL DÉCOR FOR ALL TO SEE: Please refrain from using phallic or obvious potentially offensive décor outside your guest house for other guests on property to see. Party like your sweet grandmother will show up at any given time. WIFI: Our wifi is strong and you are free to stream movies on your laptop. SmartTV & Firestick access to Netflix and Hulu is in place. CAMERAS: Due to our Wildlife exemption granted January 2019, there are outdoor cameras on property. Please do not tamper with them, turn them off or unplug the camera components. POWER OUTAGES: It is rare, but during severe weather, the electricity may temporarily go out. This is beyond our control. The power company has always been really great at restoring power quickly. LOCATION: We are on a private gated ranch which is an 7-8 minute drive to Main Street on Highway 87\. It is inconsiderate to shortchange us on our star rating during your review for our location if you expected to be closer to downtown. We are NOT downtown and our guests continuously rave about the private hill country experience as they preferred NOT to be downtown. We relaxed together and chatted over coffee while enjoying the beautiful setting and each other. All was comfortable, cozy and well-appointed. ##### k r. One can imagine seeing this home on HGTV as a perfected "after". Lots of space for a family with numerous twin beds, which are mostly upstairs. As it should be, the kitchen serves as the heart of this home with a nice table for gathering for games, talk, and of course, dining. The living room has a club-feel to it with overstuffed seating, and lots of it. Though we were there on a cold, wet weekend, the outside space is very nice with a patio, firepit, and grill. Very handy space for enjoying an evening outdoors. Excellent experience. I have no complaints! The only unexpected, though not necessarily negative things were (1) it's remote, so there is no TV service, satellite or otherwise and (2) the upstairs access is via an external staircase. For some, the lack of TV is a huge plus as if facilitates family time. For our guys' "bike ride weekend" during the Masters, it necessitated a trip to town to catch golf at a local watering hole, which is only 10 minutes away. The TV craving is probably unique to us, but just be aware. Our age ranges were 22 to 78! We loved the Sieben Salthaus. Everything was perfect. April and Erik (and Bella the dog) are fantastic hosts. They replied immediately to any questions we had via text. The property is beautiful, fantastic decor, and all necessities are supplied. April has thought through everything to make your stay the best. The house was spotless, and the beds were dreamy. The house was beautifully decorated. There was ample space for our family to spread out during the day. In the evening our family sat on the back porch around a fire, sharing stories and memories with our children and their grandparents under the hill country sky. At night we slept is extremely beds. On the day we checked out, April went above in beyond, and showed our family some of the other houses onsite, telling us the history of the property. The house is clean, airy, bright, and everything farmhouse. Such attention to detail with cute little touches throughout. Almost every room was magazine worthy and ready for a chic photo op! We had 8 ladies in our group and there are 8 separate beds which were all super comfy. Plenty of seating in the outdoor area with, again, farmhouse fab. We all agreed it would be a lovely place for a wedding and bridal portraits. We will definitely be back! My entire family loved our stay at Legacy Ranch My family of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids 7 and 4 yrs.) recently stayed at the Sieben Salthaus for the New Year's holiday and had an amazing stay. The entire property is wonderful and the house itself was beautiful, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing your own meals at home. The bedrooms and baths are also well equipped with quality linens. For being in a secluded property, it's location is conveniently less than 10 min. from Fredericksburg. We had shops, restaurants, and HEB not too far from the rental. We even drove 20 min, to Llano to eat Barbecue at the famous Cooper's. On the way back we enjoyed an impressive sunset as we drove pass Enchanted Rock national park. We had the opportunity to meet April and Eric who are very gracious hosts. They gave us a tour of the other 2 homes in the property which we also fell in love with and hope to have the opportunity to stay in sometime soon. April's interior decorating skills and taste are impeccable. All homes have a rustic charm yet all highly "sophisticated" as well as with all of the basic commodities. The only negative is the poor cell phone reception which is beyond the owners' control. Also, we couldn't utilize all the single beds for our children as we had hoped for, as they are too small and a bit high for our young kids whom we know would have fallen at night. We still made it work as there were plenty larger beds also in the 2nd floor. For new year's eve, Eric the owner helped us turn on the small fire-pit in the back patio for our kids to enjoy s'mores as we rang in the New Year. The stars couldn't have shined more brightly that night, it was quite a priceless experience. Overall we truly enjoyed our short Fredericksburg vacation, and Legacy Ranch was the perfect place for creating family memories. We're definitely already spreading the voice and hope to return in the spring to enjoy the blue bonnets. Thank you April and Eric for the opportunity. You guys have done an amazing job.
