Heated Pool/Spa with Fire Pit/Place Our historic 100+ year-old home has the charm you are looking for, but with all the modern amenities you expect from a luxury home. HEATED POOL AND HOT TUB NOW AVAILABLE! We are centrally located, just a 10-minute walk to the corner of Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg. We feature upper/lower porch balconies, indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and a fully fence backyard. Private parking for all guests. High-end linens, glasses, and service/cookware set this listing apart. Home is 2906 sf. We are proud owners of this beautiful property with a strong tradition of excellent reviews! Our goal is to provide you with 5- and 10-star experiences. The Historic Gold Haus was built in 1906 for German immigrants who made this town into the place you love to visit. A stunning full renovation was performed in Spring 2023. There is a spacious foyer upon entrance to home that leads either to the kitchen or the living room. The living room is super cozy with a built-in working gas fireplace, luxurious leather sectional, and a smart TV. There is a full bathroom located in the hallway adjacent to the kitchen on the first floor. The kitchen is beautifully modern and comes fully equipped with gas stove/oven, full-size fridge/freezer, Keurig coffee station (both drip and k-cup compatible), as well as high end flatware, glassware, and silverware. We are also proud to provide All-Clad cookware and bakeware! There is a total of 5 bedrooms (2 king-sized beds on the main floor, and 1 king and 2 queen-sized beds on the second floor). We are beyond pleased to outfit each bed with 600 thread-count 100% cotton California Design Den sheets (we love this brand so much that we use it for our personal home!). Each bedroom is also equipped a Samsung smart TV. All bedrooms are fitted with blackout curtains to ensure a peaceful night's sleep! The home is permitted for 8 guests. The outdoor space is complete with a fire pit and chairs. Downstairs: Bedroom 1 - Master: King size bed, en suite bathroom with large walk-in closet. Spacious private sitting room connected to the bedroom. Please note: there are a few small steps in the master bedroom to go from the bedroom to the bathroom and closet. Please use caution, especially at night. If you have limited mobility, the other bedroom on the first floor would be a better option. Bedroom 2/Office - King size bed with easy access to the downstairs full bathroom (quick walk through living room and down a short hallway). This room is located off the living room and has a desk and chair for those looking to work remotely. Door can be closed for privacy. This room can also be directly accessed from the outside through the first-floor balcony. Upstairs: Bedroom 3 - Queen size bed with stunningly renovated en suite bathroom. Bedrooms 4 - Queen sized bed with gorgeous en suite bathroom. Bedroom 5 - King sized bedroom that can be accessed privately from the hallway as well as from the upstairs balcony. Note: BR 5 can either choose to share the bathroom with BR 4 (Jack-and-Jill entrances) or they can use the downstairs bathroom near the kitchen. (Please see floor plan in photos section for more information) Backyard/Pool - a fire pit and historic windmill set the scene as you unwind and reconnect with friends and family in our fully private back yard. Pool and Hot Tub are complete and will be ready for use as of 02/01/26! The heating of the hot tub is included in the daily rate, but the pool can be heated upon request for a fee (please see the FAQ section for more information). Historic homes, while charming, are full of other interesting and charming features like narrow stairways, multilevel spaces, and raised floor moldings between rooms. Please watch your step! Guests will have access to the main part of the house and complete and private use of the backyard. There is a secluded back cottage that is not available to rent, nor will interfere with your stay. We include numerous products to make your stay comfortable and get you started on your trip. These include coffee, tea, packaged milk, sugar, toilet paper towels, toiletries, etc. We stock for the average guest but understand that some people may use more products than others. If you find that you need more than we provided, there is an HEB Grocery Store conveniently located on the other side of Main Street on Adams Street (5 minute drive, 20 minute walk). Thank you for your understanding. F.A.Q.s 1\. Are pets allowed? Yes! We love our dogs and know that you love yours as well. At this time there is a $75 non-refundable pet fee which allows up to 2 dogs or cats per stay. We have one kennel provided, and request that you please use it if you are worried that your dog may act up when left alone. Please be respectful and pick up any dog waste before leaving. Excess mess left behind may result in up to a $50 charge. 2\. Are parties allowed? Yes, parties are allowed, but all guests must be respectful of the city noise ordinance (quiet hours start a 10 pm), their neighbors, and the home in general. Security deposited may be forfeited for any damage or excessive mess left behind, and guests may be forced to leave without refund if they are found violating the occupancy or city ordinances. Please treat our home as you would your own. 3\. How close are you to Main Street? According to Google Maps it is exactly a 10-minute walk to get from your vacation home to the corner of Adams Street and Main. This puts you right in the heart of town, at the corner of the Marktplatz where many festivals, including Oktoberfest, take place. 4\. What is there to do in Fredericksburg? At this property you are in the heart of town, and walking distance to shops, fine and casual dining, and several beer, wine, and distillery tasting rooms. A short drive out of town, taking a left on Main Street, takes you onto the Hill Country Wine Trail, with stunning wineries and world class wines. There is also natural beauty to explore at Enchanted Rock for those looking for something more outdoorsy. For Country music fans, you are about 15 minutes from Luchenbach, TX. 5\. Is there a pool or hot tub on the property? Yes! The pool and hot tub will be operational and ready to use as of February 1st, 2026! We are still working on furnishing the rest of the patio, but hopefully that should take no later than early Spring 2026\. 6\. What do I need to bring with me for the pool? We provide 10 towels for guests to use, so if you are someone who knows they may need more than that, please kindly bring some extras from home. Feel free to bring any tubes, toys, goggles, etc. as these are not provided. Oh, and of course bring your bathing suits! 7\. How do I arrange to have the pool heated? We are happy to provide a heated pool upon request. There is an initial flat fee of $250 to heat the pool to 84°F, which provides heat for a 2-day stay. If you are staying longer than 2 days and would like to continue heating the pool, the charge is an additional $100/day (so a 3-night stay would cost $250 + $100 =$350.00). Important: If you choose to add the heating option, we will set the pool to 84°F the night before your arrival. This does NOT mean that we can guarantee that the pool will reach, or stay at, 84°F. Texas weather in the Winter can be unpredictable, and the temperature can fluctuate 40 degrees or more in a single day. We were sure to invest in a top-of-the-line heater, but if it is 30F or 40F degrees out (or less!), it is not likely that the pool will reach a comfortable swimming temperature during your stay. Cancelation Policy: As a result, we STRONGLY recommend that you check the weather for Fredericksburg, TX before your stay to monitor for any significant cold fronts. You have 48 hours before your check-in time to cancel the heating request. Failure to cancel before this window will result in the loss of your heating fee. Thank you so much for your understanding! 8\. How big/deep is the pool? The pool is 15 feet by 30 feet, with depths ranging from 3' to 5'. There is also a shallow sun deck in the pool for two loungers or chairs (loungers/chairs may not be available until Spring 2026) Note: There is no lifeguard on duty, so use of pool and hot tub is at the guest's own risk. Please watch children around the pool, and do not use the pool or hot tub while intoxicated. Have fun, but please be smart, safe, and respectful! 9\. How big is the hot tub? The hot tub is 7 feet by 7 feet and should comfortably accommodate 8 guests (or more) at a time. 10\. How fast is the WiFi? We have the fastest internet available with 1 gigabyte of bandwidth, download speeds of 1036 Mbps, and upload speeds of 40 Mbps. 11\. Are towels and linens provided? Yes, bathroom towels and bed linens are provided. Only one set is provided per stay, but there is a laundry washer and drier on premises, included with your stay. We provide enough towels for the average guest (3 bath towels, 2 wash cloths, 2 hand towels, and 2 make-up towels for each bedroom, and there are 5 bedrooms). If you are someone who knows you require more than average, please kindly bring extra from home. Unfortunately, we do not supply or deliver extra linens. If you notice upon arrival that you do not have the standard amount of linens, please let us know so we can fix the problem immediately. 12\. Is the kitchen fully equipped? Yes, the kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, 4 burner gas range, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. High-end Cutlery, plates, glasses, and silverware are provided, as are standard kitchen utensils. We are also proud to provide All-Clad pots, pans, baking dishes, and baking sheets. Dish soap, sponge, and dishwasher pods/detergent are supplied as well. 13\. Is the property kid-friendly? Yes, and we have two pack-and-plays and two booster seats that can be available upon request. Kids are definitely welcome on property, but do require adult supervision, especially when on the balconies, stairs, or around any fire pits, pools, or spa. As a historic home, the railings on the balcony are somewhat shorter than would be standard today, thus their use is at the guest's own risk. Please be safe! 14\. Why is check-in at 4 pm, instead of 3 pm? In order to be respectful of our housekeeping staff and provide you with a hotel-level clean home, we have had to adjust our check-in time to 4 pm. The home is large, and now with the pool and spa there is a lot more work to get done in between guest visits. We apologize for any inconvenience, but hope you understand. We do offer early check-ins pending availability (please see next FAQ), and if the house was unoccupied the night before your visit, a check-in before 2 or 3 pm might even be possible! 15\. Do you allow early check-in or late check-out? The answer is maybe... unfortunately due to the size of the house and tight turnaround times, we are unable to guarantee an early check-in or a late check-out. This is in order the be respectful of our housekeeper's schedules, and to give them the time they need to provide you with the best and cleanest house possible. Early check-in can be considered on a case-by-case basis on the day of your arrival by contacting our housekeeping staff. We are very sorry, but we cannot guarantee early check-in ahead of time. We thank you for your understanding! 16\. How many guests can the home accommodate? The home is permitted for 8 guests to sleep overnight, but has enough bedrooms and bedding to accommodate 10 guests. They thought of everything and we didn't event use all of the spaces. We had six adult high school friends reuniting and we all LOVED the Gold Haus. Beds were comfortable, lovely linens/robes/towels, good bathrooms, cozy gathering place, well appointed kitchen. All round fabulous stay. Each of us are planning to return with our own families. The charm of the home truly stood out; it was thoughtfully designed with beautiful decor and amazing attention to detail. The amenities were very well thought out, and the beds were so comfortable—we felt right at home. Everything was well-equipped, making our stay seamless and enjoyable.
