Fantastic view and central to activities. The mountain towns in the area were very nice with restaurants and pubs. Natalite, the owner, was very helpful and responsive.
We had an amazing stay at this mountain house with friends and our two babies! The views were absolutely stunning — every window felt like a postcard. The location was perfect for both relaxing and exploring nearby trails. The host’s communication was excellent, making check-in and our entire stay smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this spot for families or groups looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible scenery!
Stunning place! I hold recommend for large families, there is plenty of room for everyone to have space. The views are unbelievable!! Our stepson got married and they came to have pictures on the back porch after seeing the view we had. Just gorgeous!
Wonderful house and location in the mountains for a long weekend with friends. Wish we could have stayed longer. Wonderful views from the decks and firepit area. Would stay here again.
The view was amazing! The amenities were perfect for our family trip. Three couples stayed with two kids and it was a fantastic set-up where you could have your own privacy but also have enough space to gather together and not feel cramped.
Large house with several decks that overlook the valley below. We enjoyed the firepit area at night. Secluded area up a mountain that we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Kitchen was well stocked and place was clean. Would stay here again.
What an amazing home!! The views were stunning. The home was perfect. Communication with the host was easy and she responded quickly. This was one of the best homes we have stayed in and we will certainly stay here again.
Great location. House is great. Loved the hanging swing/bed on the middle level porch. View is fantastic. Morning sun feels great on the porch. Some minor broken things when we arrived, but I chatted with the property manager and it doesn't sound as though we will be charged for those. Very nice property manager who is easy to communicate with.
This house was perfect for our long weekend get away with adult kids and their spouses. Everything was even better than described! Plenty to do at the house (lots of games), plenty of space for each couple to enjoy quiet time and lots of room for us all to enjoy being together. After hiking and exploring each day, we loved hanging out on the amazing deck and watching the clouds literally float right by us. We will return!
This home is perfect for an extended family! Family of 12 had the perfect accomodations! The 4 children had the loft, bunk beds, games, a TV and more. The adults had private rooms, and we had the Master suite. 3 different levels of decking with seating, fire tables, and tables and chairs. The fire pit was our gathering in the evening for star gazing, marshmallows, and stories. Thank you for a wonderful mountain experience!
This is a wonderful place in between Franklin and Highlands. We had a bit of a snafu during checking (the place had not been cleaned from the previous renters , and the owner did not have a backup plan). We figured it out and the rest of our say was very nice. At every level the decks give gorgeous views, the kitchen is well appointed, and there are fun games in the loft.
This home is a great place for a mountain vacation. The porches are amazing and perfect for enjoying the view. We loved the fire pit on the cold evenings. We cooked most meals at the house and found everything we needed as far as pots, utensils, storage containers, appliances, etc. There was plenty of room for our group to spread out. The fireplaces were wonderful (and much needed on our trip). There were a lot of steps so this could be an issue for young children or people with mobility issues. Although the house is up a winding, mountain road, it was paved and easily driven. I definitely recommend this location!
We spent our Thanksgiving with our family at Mt Vista and had an amazing time!! The house was perfect for us all! There was plenty of room and we were very comfortable throughout our stay. We enjoyed time in the great room with the beautiful fireplace and also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit at night for smores! The views were stunning on each of the multiple decks;). We were so pleasantly surprised to see the house decorated for Christmas!! Especially that beautiful Christmas Tree!! We ventured out to the town of Franklin and Highlands while stopping at Dry Falls on the way…it was all
So much fun!! We would love to come back!!
Beautiful house with incredible views. The bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. The house was clean and well stocked. The kitchen could've used a few more utensils for cooking but it was wonderful to have k-cups provided for coffee. We had trouble heating/cooling the home properly. The split units in some of the bedrooms only wanted to blow out hot air. And when we tried to open the screen doors in the day, stink bugs would sneak in. But overall the home in October maintained a steady temperature. Maybe easier to just put on a sweater in the morning and open the windows at night when the stink bugs are less active. Wonderful to sit in front of the stone fireplace in the morning and gas firetable at night. And again--that view from the porches is to die for.
We traveled with my brother’s family. There were 4 adults and 3 teenagers. We really enjoyed the view and the fire pit. The retro video games were also a great hit for adults and kids. Close to a lot of hiking and waterfalls. Closest grocery store is about 20 minutes but huge and well stocked if you need groceries or anything else. We did buy a couple of hands soaps, dish sponge and firewood. Knives, dishes and pots were adequate. Could have used a tea pot or electric kettle for our British family :) but ample space for all of us and great memories made!
What a wonderful home! Grand views from the multiple decks. Comfortable furnishings throughout. Great for multi-generational families or multiple couples with three levels for living; the loft/game room set up with bunk beds and day bed would be great for teens/children, the main level with great room and two private bedrooms and the complete lower level set up as the main bedroom with another beautiful stone fireplace. There is even an efficiency apartment with its own entrance. Communication with Natalie, the host, was fantastic from beginning to end. The home was even beautifully decorated for Christmas! Close to great small towns for day trips. Highlands was a favorite for shopping with plenty of waterfalls to see on the way. Another town to visit - Helen, GA, for a true Bavarian experience. And don't forget to stop by Dillard House Restaurant for great homestyle dining. Can't wait to come back!!!
I wanted to treat my kids to a vacation after graduating college, and they chose a mountain get away instead of the beach. I’m glad they did! This was the perfect mountain getaway!! The views are breathtaking! Every morning we watched the clouds come up the mountain and roll away. The hummingbirds come daily to the feeder on the top deck. Several mornings in a row we watched as a pair of eagles soared and hunted over the valley below. The house was perfectly clean and equipped and had everything we needed. The fire pit was amazing with more of the gorgeous views. All the pictures Natalie has posted are accurate, but do not compare to seeing it in person. There is so much to see and do, but just ask a local or check out the suggestions in the notebook at the home. You will not be disappointed!
To celebrate our 50th anniversary, my husband and I drove all the way from Texas to spend a week at Mountain Vista Lodge. It was everything we were hoping for, and we are so glad that we picked this home to stay in! The most important thing we wanted was a beautiful, long-range mountain view, and the views from the decks were even better than the online pictures in the listing. They are just awe-inspiring! We were also very well pleased with the house. It is very well stocked, was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was decorated in a very pleasing fashion. Last, but certainly not least, Natalie was a fantastic host! She made the check-in process very easy and provided a helpful notebook with information on the house and the area. She responded very quickly both before our trip and after we arrived when I reached out with questions. We had a fantastic week at Mountain Vista Lodge, and we would highly recommend it to others. Thanks for sharing your home with us, Natalie!
We stayed at this property for one week and enjoyed many of its features. The house offers stunning views and has a fun game room upstairs. Its location just off a paved road made access easy, and we loved spending a few evenings around the fire pit.
While the house was well-equipped, we did need to purchase a few additional items, such as extra dishwasher tabs, paper products, a sheet pan, and a new frying pan, as the provided ones are due for replacement. The fireplaces—both indoors and on the patio—are gas and very easy to use, though they’re primarily for ambiance.
The WiFi worked well, and we had good cell reception with AT&T. We encountered a minor issue with the HVAC but found that only one unit connected to the compressor could run at a time. Checking the lines outside the house helped us identify which units were linked.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and the views were beautiful at almost any time of day.

Beautiful view
The house has a lot of room and the view is beautiful.
Location: The road that leads up to the house is a one lane dirt road, a little intimidating so drive in the daytime the first time; it takes a solid 40 min to get to the highlands on a very winding road; be aware of those that are uneasy riders in the car. the drive to Franklin is easy and a sweet town to walk around. Most of the hikes are a decent drive.
House:
The layout is nice for kids and adults. The open loft for the kids gets loud for the adults but we ended up putting them in the master downstairs to play and it worked.
Common area: it was nice to bring everyone together around the fireplace.
Beds were ok; bring extra pillows
Bathrooms ok(bring extra t-p); towels minimal
Kitchen was ok; not a lot of room and fridge didn’t stay super cold; buy ice
Laundry: nice to have onsite
Outdoor: space is nice with the fire pit on the deck and in the open space outside
Host: was communicative
We had some issues when we were at the house and they were noted.
Recommended to take pictures of the home upon arrival and departure and also if issues come up document and take pictures.
