Great hotel inside but outside does not do it justice. Great staff, very helpful and good English Breakfast was excellent and fabulous choice Would go again and only 10 minutes walk to centre of town Good sense of humour with toilet seat 😃

I really liked the property as I’m not one of those tourists that needs a modern looking room with stuff that I don’t need. Here you get a fabulously clean and super central accommodation that also offers a really diverse breakfast. And it is super super central! I will certainly book again when I need to visit Nürnberg next!

Smile hotel has a cute decor with a 70s vibe and color. We were greeted by a very friendly host upon arrival. Their parking on site is free but small, so please mention in your reservation whether or not you need parking space. Free breakfast, situated just a couple of blocks from the old city wall. Mini fridge in the room, Bed’s low to the ground, so may be a problem if you have mobility issues. If reserving by Orbitz, please note whether the payment is to be made online or at the hotel. The clerk at checkout time was a bit pushy in demanding the money while I was checking online to see whether I had pre-paid or not. I understand their wanting their money, but the prepaid/or pay-at-hotel differentiation could be a bit clearer on the Orbitz reservation email.

Great little find.
On first appearance you could think that you have chosen the wrong place, but not so, it was clean and the owners are great. Great location right across the road from walled old town. Even parked the dark in a locked garage.

We got the biggest room and it is very spacious. Location is good as everything is walking distance. Breakfast was good. Cold cuts, cheese and good coffee. Great hospitality. Recommended

Unfortunately, I did not have time to enjoy the city or even the breakfast served at the hotel. However, the place is nice (although once you cross the road and the city walls, you are in the heart of the red-light district). The people at the hotel was always friendly and helpful. Definitely, I will return in December with my kids for the Xmas market.

Smile isn't just a theme but the way u r treated
My husband recently stayed at the hotel, this is his review: "The Smile Hotel was a great place to stay while in Nurnberg for a convention at the Messe. It was conveniently next to the train which was a 15 trip to both the airport and the convention center. The hotel was clean, Smile wasn't only the theme which was bright and friendly, but also the way the hotel managers treated me. They definitely went the extra mile to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is also walking distance to the old city which is great. I strongly recommend this hotel if you travel plans bring you to Nurnberg.

Wonderful hotel. We were a bit late (traffic jam on the Autobahn), absolutely no problem. Very friendly checkin, showed us all the sites on the map. Rooms were very clean and comfy. Breakfast was really great also. Thanks Smile Hotel!

Awesome little gem of a hotel
Smile hotel looks a little sketchy from the outside but is awesome on the inside. The rooms are big, modern and very clean. The staff is so nice and helpful , they even carried our bags up to our room for us. The breakfast was delicious and had lots to choose from, and the parking was free! Love this hotel!!

Great breakfast buffet, Huge room, small refrigerator, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Helpful hosts. Convenient to old town, grocery store and public transportation. We didn't want to keep the first floor windows open so the room did get warm. Free convenient parking. Our first floor room was clean but had some hidden mold that stirred up allergy symptoms. A run for Benadryl and all was fine! Wifi was weak in our room as it has been in many of our European travels. A room on the second floor would probably take care of our minor concerns. We would try Smile Hotel again!

THis hotel is run by a couple that are just fantastic!! They repeatedly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was just terrific. Morning breakfast buffet was outstanding. They were super helpful about tourism and information. They even offered to let us keep our car on their lot after our stay was over so we could sightsee and not have to pay extra for parking. The outside of this hotel does not look inviting but our whole family loved this place!!!

Great little find, the owners were really friendly and seemed like they really cared. Breakfast was good. Neighbourhood is not wonderful but it was quiet and very close to old town and trams. Room itself was a great size, comfortable bed and stable wifi!

Great family hotel with amazing hospitality
This hotel is perfectly suited for families, reminiscent of a youth hostel with the hospitality and service of bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, we found the surrounding neighborhood to be loud and rowdy, and did not feel safe outside after dark. Other than this, which can't be helped by the hotel, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to those visiting Nurenberg.

Avoid Room 18 during Ramadan.
My room, Room 18, almost overlooked the courtyard of a mosque or Islamic center where, during my first night there, which happened to be the last night of Remadan, men congregated and talked loudly until first light. Aside from that I would have no complaints at all. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the room was fine, the management was very friendly. I don't think the other rooms would be affected; this was the last on a corridor along which no other rooms faced that courtyard. Possibly the room directly above 18 would also be a problem, if there is one.

SPS Drives 2014
Four days Business visit to SPS Drives Exhibition. Hotel is a small/medium family run business, themed and catering specifically for family visitors. The proprietors are very helpful and friendly. The location is very good for the old city and all public transport systems are 3-5 minutes walk. I would recommend this hotel to any visitors to the city. Please note there are not any coffee/tea making facilities in the room and they do not take credit cards, something I overlooked when booking.
