The Hideaway is exceptionally well cared for, with outstanding cleanliness especially for a holiday let that takes pets. The house is a superb location for enjoying all Fowey has to offer. Parking is a strenuous walk uphill to a public car park and about £40 for the week. Delightful master bedroom with stunning view of the church tower and harbour beyond. You do get used to the seagulls and clock chimes throughout the night. Well equipped kitchen and outdoor space with table and chairs. We loved our week. ##### Mark F. Everything is only a few minutes walk from the flat. After that there is much to be desired and quite frankly I would recommend staying elsewhere as there are numerous flats throughout Fowey. Long story short, the property suffers from what appears to be years of deferred maintenance and all the spaces are VERY worn and several windows, blinds, lights, etc, do not work. The photos on the website show a very nice property which were apparently taken quite awhile ago when the owners spruced up the properties for rentals - The spaces are VERY WORN down, particularly the lounge and back yard. Also, the main bedroom on the 3rd floor has a skylight window that is lovely, however, the window across fro the skylight which would be nice for air cross flow has a sign saying "window cannot be opened". As a result the third floor bedroom gets VERY hot as the heat rises. Several blinds are missing their "wands, and do not function and are in bad repair. The property was covered in cobwebs when we arrived, but otherwise clean. No cable TV since the outside box was corroded due to inattention - The owner had two electricians come out but they were unable to fix the problem and needed to order parts - Would not arrive during our stay. ##### James F. It must have been a long season as there were a few niggly maintenance issues that needed attending to. For instance the front door was stuck solid and took a hefty shoulder to get it open . The lock on the back door didnt work either. I fixed by a purchase of wd40 and silicon spray. If I'd brought my tools I could have fixed it permanently. Cleanliness was just ok, quite a few cob webs. Fowey town is lovely, lots of nice restaurants, great chippie, and Rubys for ice cream, Carylon beach great, £5 for parking then 80 steps to beach, bar/cafe/beach shop and hire place for all water based activities. ##### Gavin S.
