This large 5 bedroom 4.5 bathroom villa is situated over 3 floors, and provides flexibile accommodation, either as one villa, or if you prefer two separate apartments. The entire property is included in the price, and you can arrange as you wish.,Perfect for two families or for couples with many en-suite rooms. Both the spacious ,light and airy ground and first floors have their own fully equipped kitchens,living rooms with 2 large sofas in each and they both share a laundry room with washing machine ..... Each of these floors has the benefit of individual eating areas with views out over the land below and the mountains beyond ... Outside there is a private 12m x 6m pool with internal steps, a barbeque, and a large sunbathing area for whiling away the hours. There are 3 terraced areas leading from the house itself, giving a good choice for eating al fresco. A perfect spot for a family holiday, especially for two families holidaying together who still want their own space. Ground floor: Spacious light and airy living room with fireplace and comfy seating (2 sofas) - double doors leading to patio. Sat tv, dvd player. Free wifi internet access available. Although some places may appear close “as the crow flies,” walking routes are often impractical. A car is required for restaurants, shopping, and local amenities. This stunning villa is situated 1 hr. north of Lucca high in the hills of Garfagnana Northern Tuscany. The views & walking opportunities are the real attraction of this property but there is a small bar/shop in two of the closest villages one of which is less than 1km away and a restaurant 2km away (half hour walk). There is also a pizzeria, and train station at the bottom of the hill 4km away. So, the countryside but not remote! Just a 20 minute drive is Barga the beautiful mediaeval town, with its wonderful architecture, Duomo, very good restaurants, markets under the stars and regular free music. Less than a 15 minute drive is the bustling little market town of Castelnuovo, famous for its Thursday morning market The fully walled mediaeval city of Lucca is less than an hour away - try cycling around the walls, meandering in shady narrow streets and people watching in the Grand Piazzas while enjoying a drink or a gelato! Or, there are often outdoor concerts with big named performers, and if you prefer nightly opera recitals. Florence and Siena can be reached for day trips, and Pisa with its airport is a 1 hr 15 minute drive. The Versilian coast is a good day trip reached either via Lucca or more spectacularly by crossing through the Apuan Alps. The famous Wind Caves are a 40 minute drive, as is the Canyoning park, where one can jump down waterfalls into beautiful rivers. Closer to home there are plenty of little historic villages to visit, many of which have local festas in the summer. Don't forget the lake of Vagli (with its hidden village submerged by the water) for an afternoon drive, or the lake of Pontecosi, where one can stop for a drink. Some some guests love to swim in the river too ... Many guests enjoy to visit the local Fortress at Verrucole which is a good afternoon out, with stunning views and some interactive activities for the children. Close to the fortress is the Buffardello tree climbing and zip wire park (ideal for both adults and children of all ages with a variety of runs) where one can take a picnic or BBQ and spend the entire day in the welcome shade of the forest. The real beauty of this area is the dramatic mountain scenery, and the hundreds of hilltop villages to explore, endless picnicking opportunities, and the pure peace of a non touristy holiday ...... The refridgerator had a problem, the washing machine had no handle, and there was no hot water downstairs. These are not items you expect. In addition the path to the front door was overgrown and not kept. The property had 2 elements , which was what we wanted as we have some disabilities, however the property is totally unsuited to people with disabilities. Additionally the road up is a nightmare, the instructions on how to get there are wrong, leading to a major problem in finding the place. When we opened the doors we were ecstatic at how nice the house was. Better than the online pictures. So much space and the views were breathtaking and different every morning. Wildlife out our back door. So many fire flies. Henné the property manager was so friendly and accommodating and helpful. Brought us coffee even after I said we were going for our own she arrived to meet us without any then went back out to get us some when I said we got lost going to the store. The little store we eventually found and it was really so easy to get to where we could order fresh bread for next day pick up. Henné gave us many tips and ideas of things to do in the area which we ran out of time to do. Maybe someday we’ll be back. The one tip I would give getting to the place is there’s a sign that says Vallechia. It’s a sharp left going upwards then the first sharp right. A sign at the sharp right would be most helpful as we missed it and had to back down the steep road. But once we arrived and knew where we were going I highly recommend this location👍 ##### Heather F. Everything one could want or require for a summer holiday. Wonderful Italian meal waiting for us on arrival took the stress out of a long drive. Although a long and winding road to the villa we soon got accustomed to the drive in our vw van. The pool was regularly cleaned and it was great to see the hupos in the garden, the eagles above us and the fireflies lighting up the garden in the evening. Fantastic views, well equipped, lovely garden and pool and plenty of space for 8 adults. We really enjoyed eating on the balcony with the valley spread out below us. The station is 15 minutes away so perfect for day trips to Pisa, Lucca or up the valley ( we took our bikes on the train and cycled back down). Easy acces from Pisa airport by road or rail if you have a pick up from the station. The road up to the house is windy and narrow in places but fine after a couple of trips! Everything down from the views, to the villa itself, to the lovely welcome dinner we had that night. The cooks are so lovely and definitely worth getting and it takes the hassle of going out and finding something or cooking your own meal. The villa is huge and accommodated 8 of us with more room with a bedroom not even being used. I would highly recommended this property, the management team are very professional and will try to help you out as best they can with any request. The view was the best I have had the good fortune to experience. Breathtaking doesn't begin to describe it. Some days the billowy clouds were actually on the property. We were in the clouds! The property was well kept. The house itself was spacious, clean and provided a great stay for our family of 11\. The only issue is the mountain road. Not being used to such it was not enjoyable for me as I had to keep my eyes closed while my husband drove. Tough to navigate when unaccustomed to travelling on such narrow roads with a cliff on one side and rocky mountain on the other. Needless to say hubby did a great job. Wir waren eine Woche in Vallecchia Sotto, und haben die Ruhe, die warmen Tage und kühlen Nächte sehr genossen. Das Haus ist wunderschön restauriert, bietet viel Platz für elf Erwachsene, hat zwei großzügige, gut ausgestattete Küchen, und der Swimmingpool ist groß genug, um wirklich schwimmen zu können - ein Vergnügen nicht nur am frühen Morgen. Der Blick ins Tal und auf die umliegenden Berge ist beeindruckend, die Anfahrt braucht auf den letzten Metern Mut und Schwung. Aber sie lohnt sich! La maison est spacieuse et confortable, toujours fraîche . Très bien équipée . Les différentes terrasses nous ont permis de prendre nos repas à l’abri du soleil . Quant à la piscine ,dotée de nombreux transats , nous y avons jouis d’une vue époustouflante. Les photos de la maison ne sont pas à la hauteur de la réalité. La Casa e a dir Poco stupenda . Ogni camera ha il proprio bagno . Si può cenare nel giardino o sul terrazzo. La Piscina meravigliosa illuminata anche di sera. Il proprietario ci ha offerto una cena mandando una chef a domicilio che ha cucinato dei piatti buonissimi . L’ unico punto debole che vorrei segnalare è semplicemente la mancanza delle zanzariere . Essendo immersa nella campagna toscana ci sono un sacco di insetti che entravano, dalle Mosche alle Cimici ma soprattutto abbiamo avuto come ospiti degli scorpioni . Credo che delle zanzariere potrebbero in qualche modo aiutare a tenere fuori questo animali rendendo la casa ancora più perfetta . Per i bambini e ideale un po scomoda da raggiungere .
