This beautifully appointed detached property sits in splendid isolation, surrounded by the mature farmlands of the Lour Estate. Completely renovated to a very good standards throughout, it is a superb example of a stylish and comfortable holiday home. Although remote, the property is only 4 miles from the market town of Forfar, where there is an abundance of local facilities as well as a good golf course, a nature reserve and swimming pool. The area is rich in history and is an ideal base for touring, hillwalking, bird watching, horse-riding, visiting castles, National Trust properties and Pictish stones. To the east are the very good beaches of the Angus Coastline, whilst to the west the Angus Glens are a challenge for all walking abilities. Forfar Loch attracts anglers, walkers and wildlife, whilst Glamis Castle is a short drive away. There are several very good golf courses within an hour’s drive, not least St Andrews and Carnoustie. The location was perfect - quiet and private, the downstairs bedroom was ideal for one of our party who was unable to manage the stairs, the property was clean, well equipped, with a modern kitchen. The wi-fi was reliable, the seating area was comfortable and there was room for us all to spread out. The arrival package of cakes, scones, butter, jam and milk was very welcoming, and the whole week was wonderfully restful and relaxing.
