We stayed in the cabin because we were in town for a wedding. The cabin doesn’t have blackout curtains so after a long night out you are awake early. The toilet in our cabin was very loose so it made a loud bang every time we sat down. They were very well decorated. The common area was awesome and had lawn games. There was a dog park and playground within walking distance. And little shops and restaurants within walking. I love the style and the history of the place. There is a yard with a large outdoor kitchen and other fun games and stuff. Great for the kiddos! I'd like to find a reason to go back to the area just so that I can stay at this place again! And the American River is just right down the road (if you don't mind driving a gravel road). The cabin is cute and quaint with historical charm. With that being said, I disliked that the bedding sheets had previous guests’ hairs and bits of black and brown specks. I wasn’t sure what those specks were, but thankfully I brought my own sheets just in case. Also the bed post had a missing knob and left a screw exposed which scraped me when I walked by. The pull-out couch was also dirty once we pulled out the bed. It had many food crumbs and hairs on top of the mattress. I thought maybe it could have been fallen crumbs from snacks being eaten on the couch, but the way the bed folds in, the food would not have been able to get between the crevices. This showed that the pull-out couch had not been cleaned after the previous guests. Overall I don’t mind that the cabin is very old or had a missing knob that scraped me. We actually loved the cabin up until we had to go to bed and realized the sheets and pull-out bed were dirty. Cleanliness plays a huge role on my comfort and my comfort for my family. I paid a lot to stay here, it would have been nice to sleep comfortably in beds with clean sheets.
