"Nice place. Fairly clean and the few staff members that I interacted with were friendly. I was uncomfortable with the fact that the hotel entry was on the first floor and reception was on the second floor. Feels like anyone could just walk in off the street and have full access to the hotel without being noticed at all. Given this design, they could AT LEAST require room keys to use the elevator. "

"Our stay at Opal Sands was excellent. The view from room was beautiful as it looked out to the ocean and the beach going to the beach was easy because you just walked down downstairs to reserve a beach chair in the morning and then you could enjoy it all day. The pool was heated and excellent shade in the morning, which was great for kids. The towel service at the pool is the best I’ve ever seen. We were able to get towels for the beach and the pool as needed. The food by the pool and the sandbar was great for lunch. We had a reservation at the restaurant and it was the best meal we had. We also walked to several other highly rated restaurants in the area and enjoyed having options. Note the beach can get crowded on busy weeks. However, everyone is very pleasant and I didn’t even feel it since the chairs create space and the safe walkin areas of the ocean extends very far. "

"The property is clean but not impressive for the rates they charge. We had to wait for 2 hours to check in, our room wasn't ready. This stay was disappointing overall. "

"Bathroom was not clean. Toothpaste and soap was on vanity from prior guest. I cleaned myself prior to use. Room key expired each day, had to go down to front desk to have it reset every afternoon. Baseboards were taped at corners instead of repaired in room."

"Wonderful parking, secluded area with security and lots of families and young folks. Check in is on the second floor with check in parking at the front. Extremely convenient for straight chilling. "

"room was dirty. there was a blood stain by the mirror. Very dissapointing but besides that the amenities was good. The pool and patio areas was good so i'll give in 4 stars. "

"Hotel is in an ideal location with amazing views of the ocean. Alot of boat watching which was nice. The rooms were spacious. Also, besides their own onsite restaurant they are also close to many other restaurants to enjoy. Close to Pier 60, shops and to a small grocery store for convenience. And we loved that there are trollies that run all day to get you around town. Note- high traffic volumes during the day from 9am- 6pm. Took us 35 minutes to go 3 miles due to all of the incoming traffic. Overall it was a wonderful stay and would recommend for couples and for families. Staff was friendly as well."
