- A newly restored historic palazzo, a 9 minute walk from the Duomo, where every apartment is a small art gallery: original paintings on the walls. Two double bedrooms and two bathrooms with rain showers, on the ground floor: no stairs to climb. Kitchen and dining room with exposed beams. Just right for two couples or a family. An all electric palazzo running on renewable energy, with purified water at the entrance. We'll welcome you in person and be on hand throughout your stay.
The apartment is all yours: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and dining room. The water fountain at the building entrance is available to all guests. Entry is by code, with no keys to pick up: you can arrive at any time, and we'll send you the code the day before. If you prefer, we'll meet you at the front door and show you around.
Ground floor: no stairs to climb with your luggage. Both bedrooms have a double bed: there are no single beds and no sofa bed. Entry is by code: no keys to pick up or return. Looking for outdoor space? In the same building we have a similar apartment with a private courtyard: message us. No smoking indoors. The historic center is a limited traffic zone (ZTL): don't drive in. We'll tell you where to park.
WELCOME This home is looked after by us at Valore Casa, day in and day out. If anything isn't quite right, just message us and we'll take care of it straight away. ENTRANCE The main building door and the apartment door open with the codes we sent you. When leaving, close the door behind you and make sure it is locked. Never leave the main building door ajar. WATER At the building entrance, there is a purified and mineralised water fountain available to all guests. Please fill the carafes provided in the kitchen. This way, there's no need to buy bottled water. ARTWORK The paintings on the walls are original works of art. Please do not move them or place anything against them. CLIMATE CONTROL Heating and cooling are provided by heat pumps and controlled with the remote. Select either heating or cooling mode, then set your preferred temperature. Please switch them off when you go out and keep the windows closed while they are running. KITCHEN The hob is induction: switch it on using the power button. It works with the pots and pans provided in the apartment. Coffee: capsule machine. For recycling, please separate paper, plastic and metals, glass, organic waste and general waste. The nearest bins are located at [where they are]. BATHROOMS If hot water takes a little while to come through, let it run for a few seconds. If you need extra towels, just message us. The iron and ironing board are in the open wardrobe in the main bedroom. EMERGENCIES Emergency number (police, ambulance, fire brigade): 112. You can reach us on WhatsApp at +39 351 391 0548, including at night for urgent matters. RECOMMENDATIONS Ask us where to eat, what to see, or how to skip the queues at the Accademia Gallery or the Duomo dome. We can book restaurant tables, tickets, tours and transfers for you. For groceries or a quick lunch, Mercato Centrale is just 3 minutes away.
In Florence you can walk everywhere: from here the Duomo is 9 minutes away, and the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio a quarter of an hour. Santa Maria Novella station is an 8 minute walk, even with suitcases. From the airport, the T2 tram drops you off 5 minutes from the apartment, at the Fortezza stop; or we'll arrange a private transfer that meets you at arrivals and takes you right to the front door, luggage and all. The historic center is a limited traffic zone (ZTL) with cameras at the entry points: don't drive in, because the fine arrives weeks later. If you're coming by car, let us know in advance and we'll tell you where to leave it.
THE PALAZZO A historic palazzo in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, newly restored with fine materials: original pietra serena finishes, the gray stone Brunelleschi chose for the Basilica of San Lorenzo, just a few steps away, and ceilings with exposed wooden beams, lit by concealed lighting. Care went into every detail, and we keep it that way. THE ART Every apartment in the building is hung with original paintings, all by the same hand: sleeping here is a bit like sleeping in an art gallery. In this one, above the dining table, there's a large canvas packed with color, almost a mosaic; in the larger bedroom, delicate drawings on white canvas; in the other, works on paper in gold frames. THE BEDROOMS Two double bedrooms, each with its own door, high quality mattresses and a Bruno Barbieri topper on every bed: you'll sleep as well as you would in a great hotel. The larger one has an open wardrobe, an arched niche and a white designer seat that's almost a sculpture; the other is cozier. Reading lamps on both sides of the bed, hotel quality linens changed for every stay. THE KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM A white kitchen with an induction cooktop, fridge, microwave, capsule coffee machine and everything you need to cook, open to the dining room: a round table for four, smart TV and fast Wi Fi, handy for work too. Above the kitchen, terracotta tiles sit between the beams. THE BATHROOMS Two new bathrooms with rain showers and built in lighting, hotel quality towels and toiletries. Fast Wi Fi, good for work too Air conditioning Smart TV Bruno Barbieri topper on every bed Hotel quality bed linens and towels Iron and ironing board Hair dryer and toiletries A GREEN PALAZZO The building is all electric, and its power comes from a certified renewable energy supplier: you cook on induction, heating and cooling come from heat pumps, and there's no gas. At the entrance there's a water fountain dispensing purified, mineralized water: you'll find carafes in the apartment, so fill them up whenever you like. No bottles to buy, and plastic kept to a minimum. In the historic center, that's still a rare choice. THE LOCATION Via Guelfa is in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, between the Mercato Centrale food market and the Fortezza da Basso. Step out the front door and you're at the Mercato Centrale in 3 minutes, the Duomo in 9, and standing in front of the David in 10. Santa Maria Novella station is an 8 minute walk: you can do it even with suitcases.
We'll welcome you in person if you like: we'll meet you at the front door and show you around. During your stay we're just a message away, from morning until late evening, and at night too for emergencies. Ask us where to eat, what to see and how to skip the lines: we'll book tables, tickets, tours and transfers for you. The rest of the time, the place is all yours.
