Staff upon arrival were friendly and pointed us in the direction of the bar and seats so we could relax until check in time 40 minutes later.
Check in was relatively painless except none of the pre check-in information I’d provided earlier was available so I had to complete it all again. Not a huge problem but a little unnecessary duplicated effort. The bedroom and public are all a little bit tired and could do with some modernisation to bring them up to a higher standard befitting of the Hotel and its unique location and amenities.
Breakfast was excellent and plentiful - fruit, cereal, continental and a buffet style Full Welsh. Other special dishes were also available like eggs Benedict etc. I didn’t bother with the spa but the modest swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym were all very adequate for the period of the stay.
