Downtown Fernie Family Loft | 2BR + Gear Garage

  • Welcome to our comfortable two-bedroom loft in the heart of historic downtown Fernie. Located directly on 2nd Avenue, the loft puts you steps from local restaurants, cafés, shops and galleries, while still being just minutes from hiking and biking trails, parks and Fernie Alpine Resort.

    The loft is especially well suited to couples and small families looking for a comfortable home base in downtown Fernie. It features two bedrooms, one full bathroom and a bright, open-concept kitchen and living area.

    The primary bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has a set of bunk beds. The top bunk has a maximum weight limit of 150 lbs and is intended for children rather than adults. The sleeping arrangement is best suited to two adults traveling with children, although the loft can also comfortably accommodate up to three adults.

    Quality linens, comfortable furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen make the loft an easy place to settle in after a day exploring Fernie.

    Gear Storage

    Guests have access to a private storage garage at the rear of the building—perfect for mountain bikes, skis, snowboards and other outdoor gear. The garage is the unit on the right and is secured with your own access code.

    Please store bikes, skis and other large sporting equipment in the garage rather than bringing them inside the loft.

    Parking

    Free street parking is available around the front, side and rear of the building on a first-come, first-served basis. During the winter, overnight parking is also available in designated downtown parking areas. Please pay attention to seasonal signage and snow-removal restrictions.

    Access

    The entrance to the loft is on 2nd Avenue at the front of the building, above and to the left of Polar Peak Books. Your private gear-storage garage is accessed from the rear of the building.

    The Building & Location

    The loft is located in a character building on Fernie's historic 2nd Avenue, directly above Polar Peak Books. The bookstore is a quiet commercial tenant and closes in the early evening.

    There is one additional residential suite next door. The suites are well separated, providing guests with a comfortable and private place to relax after a day in the mountains.

    Because the property is right in downtown Fernie, guests should expect the normal sounds of a small mountain town. Fernie's railway also runs through the downtown area, and trains may occasionally be heard from the property.

I have been visiting Fernie since 2003, this is hands down the best place I’ve stayed. Seriously, it’s so nice to be downtown and able to walk everywhere, you truly get to live the Fernie lifestyle. The pictures on VRBO show exactly how I found the property, it’s truly top notch and very clean. The beds and linens were beyond comfortable. Parking is great. I met the host, he was lovely and really quick to respond online. Beanpod Chocolate, downtown Fernie is hands down the best chocolate I have ever had, plan your shopping wisely as most stores close at 4 or 5pm.

We had a fantastic experience staying here! The unit was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and perfectly appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Short ski stay!

Actually went to Fernie for a couple days of skiing but since the Mtn had closed to for avalanche control we fished, shopped, ate great food, and drank some great beer! Place downtown was awesome! Owners took great care of us!! The BEST!

This is a great apartment in the heart of Fernie with all the amenities that make for a memorable ski vacation. Yvonne and Aric provided detailed check-in instructions and communicated with us during our stay to make sure everything was good. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this apartment.

A real “find” in Fernie

We found a home away from home in Fernie for our ski trip. Central location, bright and roomy. Aric and Yvonne were great hosts, attentive and thoughtful. Kitchen was perfect - with coffee and dark chocolate! Thanks A and Y, we will be back!

I was in town for 2 days for work. I usually stay at a hotel but this was a much better option. Here are a couple highlights for me -comfortable beds with great sheets and good pillows -great location with lots to do within walking distance -great storage garage in alley behind the unit -check in and check out were easy -

Great find on main street

This is a charming little suite conveniently located next to a coffee and bagel shop on main street. Very clean and well supplied, nice hosts. The bunk beds work for kids, but I wouldn't recommend it for adults as the mattress is a bit unforgiving. Otherwise, all was perfect.

This was the cleanest vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in!We loved the location above the coffee shop and near many restaurants and shops. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts were very responsive. Note to lite sleepers: we had the window open at night and could hear people outside the pub up the street and the train which passes through a couple times each night is quite close and woke us. We didn’t mind this though. We would definitely stay here again.

Great clean central Fernie location

We had an amazing stay in this great VRBO. It was immaculately clean and in an extremely convenient location. The garage for bikes/equipment was easy to access and great to have. Hosts were very responsive/accessible through msg’ing. All little details seemed thought out like having biking and trail guides in the home and even a VRBO Guest Netflix account :) would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a Fernie getaway

Outstanding Pied-à-Terre in the centre of Fernie!

This gorgeous apartment exceeded all of our expectations! It feels absolutely brand new with high end fittings and fixtures throughout.Located next to a coffee shop and a bagel shop, it is the perfect location for a wind down chillout weekend.We enjoyed free 'rock-star' on-street parking during our stay.The only downside was the fact that we didn't book a longer stay!Will definitely return - thank you so much for allowing us to share your beautiful home!
