So relaxing. Close to a lot of things to do (driving distance) but out in the middle of nowhere so very private, quiet and relaxing.

Very comfortable home and lovely grounds! Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet so great for sleeping. Coffee was readily available as the were Keurig machines throughout the house and breakfast was delicious. Would stay here again!

This bed and breakfast is stunning!! The grounds are beautiful and you could just wonder and relax all day. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. Paulette does not miss a thing when you’re here. Snacks and beverages are always available and she’s just a doll to chat with. And breakfast was amazing every single morning!! The grounds are just beautiful, you could literally wander or just sit and relax all day. Looking forward to our next stay.

We had such a wonderful stay at J. Paule's Fenn Inn. Paulette was a wonderful host. Very accommodating and helpful. We stayed in the treetop suite which is soooo cute! The location is a little out of Saugatuck but still close to a lot of things. The property is a couple minutes from Fenn Valley Winery and Paulette gave us free tasting tickets. If you're thinking about staying here, do it!

A home away from home
My boyfriend and I were looking to get away to see the Holland Tulip festal we've been consider going to for years. We finally bit the bullet and treated ourselves to a Bed and Breakfast in Fenville (about 20 minutes from Holland.) We were not disappointed by Ms. Paule's service and hospitality through our stay. The other guests were (surprisingly) within our age group, so it was nice to see some younger faces in the crowd staying at a B&B, too. Ms. Paule had small snacks laid out on the table that we were welcomed to grab at any point, as well as small service tables upstairs with coffee / teas and silverware, so if you didn't want to walk downstairs you didn't have to. She also had an wide variety of movies to chose from, and our room had a small TV / VCR / DVD player if you wanted to use that. It also had a small fridge which was super nice. Overall, we'd definitely stay here again. It was a lovely "home away from home" --- if the weather was nicer, we would have 100% taken advantage of the outdoor space, as well. :)

We enjoyed ourselves. It was a very relaxing weekend. We would definitely come back. We loved hanging out in the gardens drinking our coffees in the morning before a delicious breakfast.

We had a wonderful time. Paulette is so nice and her home is beautiful. We lived our King bed and our private bath. The food was delish and the B&B is close to the wineries. Perfect little getaway.

I've never stayed at a place that was so concentrated on making the guest feel at home. When I checked in the owner walked me through the entire place and the breakfast was fantastic.

This is a lovely bed and breakfast. We stayed in the treetop suite which has its own bedroom, kitchen (with Keurig), bathroom, and bathtub (the owner, Paulette, provides bath salts and lavender for the tub as well). I will warn that there is no shower in the room and the bathtub is just in the middle of the suite basically. We didn’t mind but others might. Paulette also provides snacks/treats and wine. The breakfast was good, we overslept one day and Paulette was very kind and still served us. There were a few things that made us a bit uneasy. One was that we weren’t given a key to our suite. Later when we asked if the door locks, Paulette explained that there are keys available but it’s preferred we don’t take them in case we lose them. She seemed to know the other people staying there so we were fine leaving the door unlocked after talking to her about it. The second thing that we didn’t love was there was no mask mandate when in common areas. We wore ours around anyways, but there was no sign indicating that it was mandatory and at one point we were literally told that it’s not mandatory and we don’t need to wear them. I would’ve been more reluctant to stay here after learning this, but there were bottles of hand sanitizers all around the common spaces and the place was quite clean. But if you are more anxious about Covid-19 this is probably not the place to stay.

Lovely stay, highly recommended.
Loved the location, quiet, out in the country, yet close to Holland, not to mention Saugatuck, both on Lake Michigan. On top of that Pauletta is very hospitable and makes great breakfast.

Only thing I would do would be to add a hand held shower wand to the bathtub that has no shower. Service was excellent from Paulette. Facilities very clean and neat. Food very good. Accessibility to all parts of the house much appreciated.

The house and scenery was beautiful, our room was cozy and neat. The breakfast was delicious . Although our host seemed as though she was tired of her job. She kept it short and sweet but didn’t engage with us at all. The other couples in the house interacted with us more. All in all it was a good experience.

I have been doing the B&B for many years and love it....When people are eating breakfast I let them talk... Because of a bad back sometimes my time to stand is short... I try not to complain as it is my problem and not theirs and I want their time with us to be a good on. My back is getting better.... thanks for asking... Smile!

The room was comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. Having the bathroom acroos the hall was different, but it was private.

Thank you for your review, many house over 100 years old do not have baths in the room, many have shared.. unless they turn their closets in to bathroom , which I choose not to do... for most of its life it was a private home so I felt, if I changes all the large closets into bathroom it my lose it appeal if someone wanted to buy the house as a private home..

Average B&B
The inn is set in a very peaceful area. I would have stayed in Saugatuck to avoid the drive back and forth to town. Most rooms do not have a connected bathroom or a shower, only a tub - you do not need to share but do need to walk across the hall in the middle of the night. One bathroom looks like it adjoined a laundry on the other side. The rooms were average, but not spotless. Came across a full length mirror that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. Breakfast was good though there were not any choices. Also baked goods that are set out are store bought, not homemade as in many B&Bs. Overall the stay was okay but not a place I would return to.

I find this an interesting review Our King Room #2 has a tub only, and it across the hall, my web site is very specificity, as to what the room offers and what it has and does not have, I am a one person show here and yes I am not going to bake ... be in business for 32 years and it got old making all those bake goods and no one would eat them because they were on a diet.....no I don't feel bad if they are not eaten... I think I offer much more then most B&B I have not only sweets but assorted nuts and trail mix, puss 4 different Fenn Valley wines I offer my guest.... with that said I no you can not make every one happy.... sounds like with them we missed the mark , Sorry it was not from a lack of trying

Well, short, sweet and good to hear.. Don't forget when you return you will receive a 5% discount upon booking.A way for us to say "Thank you" for returning . We try very had to make our guest comfortable, some people don't quite understand this house is over a 100 year old home, which for the past 32 years has be a growing project to where it is today.... I love and am very happy when someone loves it as much as I do...THANKS!

Amazing Inn in a nice, quiet location. Paulette, the Innkeeper, was so warm and welcoming, she made a wonderful homemade breakfast for us each day we were there and had fresh, local fruits, pastries and bottles of wine from a local winery available. She keeps a fantastic garden in the back yard and has tasty snacks available at all times. We were able to see the stars in the sky from the location. It is close enough to all the lake activity, yet much quieter than the lakefront area. This was a wonderful experience!!!

Thank you for your wonderful words, I try very had to give my guests extra. By serving them a site down breakfast, I think is a plus, and I have no problem with special needs....But we are not a restaurant, and with a few adjustments for special needs, everyone does receive the same breakfast experience for 8:30-10A.M. every morning. So glad you were happy with what I did and do for my guest. THANKS!

We went to see the tulips in Holland, MI and a quiet place of rest. We found both on our visit. Paulette has anticipated and prepared for her guests in every way. The lovely old home is beautifully furnished, very well cared for, very clean, and includes decks, and an outside garden perfect for quiet moments. Beyond the delicious breakfasts, We'll recommend J. Paule's Fenn Inn to our friends!
