Welcome to In The Trees Recently updated “In the Trees” is separated from the neighborhood with old growth flowering rhododendrons and surrounded by woods on all other sides making for a very private getaway with unique views from every window. INSIDE THE HOME Nestled on a wooded lot in the quaint hamlet of Glenn is our Michigan retreat. Designed for intimate gatherings of friends and family, the home offers multiple porches, decks, glass nooks, and a 3 season room to relax and immerse in nature. The living room is well stocked with with cards, dice and games and a big wood table to gather around. In the colder months, you can warm up by the wood burning fireplace in the living room. Off the living room are two bedrooms with queen beds, and additional sleeping for two is available via the pull out couch with memory foam. There are also two separate full bathrooms. The gourmet kitchen is centered around a large 6 burner oven and is easy to entertain in. It's properly stocked with everything you'd need to make meals at home, perhaps using local produce from Dee's Farm just down the road. There is a third bed room in the newly done garage addition, there is no heat so renting in the off season is not permitted. No pets allowed. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: This home sleeps 6 guests Main House Bedroom 1: King Bed Main House Bedroom 2: Queen Bed Main House Sleeper Sofa Garage Bedroom: Queen Bed - GARAGE BEDROOM IS NOT HEATED OUTDOOR SPACE Enjoy the beach rock fire pit and Adirondack chairs privately located in the back of the home or fully unwind at night in the 6 person Nordic hot tub. The large wrap around back deck is a great place to lay in the hammack, use the bag set or play giant jenga. The 3 seasons room is usable all year-round, down to 30º weather with the radiant space heaters always on. THE LOCATION The house in just steps away from Lake Michigan. Walk 3 minutes down the road to find steps leading right down to the water! Heading north from the stairs you'll find over a mile of walkable beach. A short drive away is a local favorite: Wau-Ke-Na, W. E. Smith Preserve North Tract. The private lake access is shared with the homes in the neighborhood and is not open to the public making it private. Not only are you in perfect distance to the lake, but also to two resort towns. South Haven and Saugatuck are both a fifteen minute drive away, the best of both worlds. \*\*Please note: Before booking, it is your responsibility to ensure that this property will accommodate the number of guests booked. The house is beautiful with a 3 season room, beautiful outdoor deck, and of course half a block away from the beach. The Jaqua Rental team was so communicative and helpful, they made sure all our questions were answered before we even thought to ask them. While the one bedroom being separated from the house and in the garage did break up group cohesion, this stay would be perfect for a group looking for some privacy as well. Don’t miss the sunset views!! We spent most of our time in the Sun Room, kitchen and dining areas. Outdoor decking made the hot tub easily accessible, so we enjoyed it at night and one morning too. We visited Holland’s Windmill Island Gardens one day, and area beaches the other two days. The bedrooms were all comfortable (note the garage shares the indoor bathrooms). It was perfect for our needs. Check-in was exceptionally easy, the house was lovely, and checkout was simple. The cottage has a lovely cabin-in-the-woods feel thanks to the assorted trees, bushes, and plants. We really loved the layout of the house with the two bathrooms, two bedrooms in the house, and one bedroom in the converted portion of the garage. The wood-burning fireplace was fantastic and easy to use, and the fire pit outside was great, too. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils and pots/pans, plus a perfect assortment of often-used spices and butter. We had our own, but the fact that they were available if we had forgotten them was incredible. The furniture was very comfortable and we easily spent our evenings chatting in the living room for hours. The sunroom and back deck were also the perfect places to relax and enjoy the scenery. I will say that our visit being in early spring meant that the foliage didn't hide how close the neighbors were, but it is a quiet neighborhood and there were no disturbances. We would also caution anyone getting into the hot tub to be exceptionally careful. The step down from the deck is a little further than you think, upon first glance. Lastly, the location is amazing. It is 15 minutes south to South Haven or 15 minutes north to Saugatuk. There were many restaurant and shopping locations in a reasonable distance. ##### Jenn C. The home is spacious, has a large kitchen and natural light. Bed linens were very soft and the firmness of the bed was perfect for me. You do need some stamina to get back up the 87 steps to the beach but it’s worth it. We spotted some deer, wild turkeys, rabbits and of course many squirrels.
