A very nice property nestled in a woods with a beach in walking distance and several more a drive away. Fennville and Saugatuc offer so much in activities, restaurants and breweries. We had campfires in the back with plenty of space for kids to play. Enjoyed our time.
House was in a quiet pretty neighborhood, with the beach close! Host was super friendly and home contained many helpful amenities. So much space for friends+family. Cleanly home with great outdoor space, thanks for the amazing stay!
We are so grateful for the host's exceptional kindness and understanding. When my father unexpectedly needed a double bypass last year, they graciously allowed us to reschedule our October 2024 booking. This past week, we finally enjoyed our stay and had a truly wonderful time. The property was charming, peaceful, and perfectly located for exploring Saugatuck, Douglas, and Fennville. We especially loved our evening meal at Salt of the Earth in Fennville, make sure to reserve a table if you go ) Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and for your remarkable hospitality.
The place is much nicer than the photos. Huge space. We barely used the basement and we had 2 small kids that wanted to run everywhere. Close to a rocky beach and local towns. Great yard with deer visiting every morning.
I had 10 people total and there was plenty of room for us all. Plenty of sleeping options for 10, 2 big bathrooms. The home was very well kept and all the necessary amenities were provided by the property owner. Beautiful area and very easy to get to. Close to Saugatauk, breweries, wineries, shipping and restaurants. This home did not disappoint - highly reccomend!
The property was overall very nice. However, a few things could have been done to improve our stay. I saw a mouse and it seemed to be there for the entire stay. The owner must have known about it because we found rat poison hidden in the corner. I feel like they could have exterminated before our stay. The downstairs toilet didn’t flush well and broke the last day of our stay. This also could have been fixed prior to our stay. The upstairs bath needs work. We all ended up sharing the downstairs shower because of it. I loved that the house was stocked with toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap and paper towels. There should be directions to the beach access. We accidentally accessed through private property the first time. Also, I wouldn’t consider this a location with beach access. The beach is not the kind of beach I want to relax at or climb out of. Loved the hot tub! It was the best part for me! We also enjoyed the fire pit! Overall, a very nice vacation home, but could use some work!

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Great location, outdoor space, but house needs updates
Positives: location, beach, neighborhood stocked kitchen with all needed for cooking comfortable beds backyard firepitRoom for improvement- fridge worked inconsistently, was at room temp for some time and we were about to lose 150 of food. Good thing we had coolers. Let the owner know. a working, used fridge was delivered. We didn’t use it bc the inside wasn’t cleaned, visible food stains.- grill was broken. House managers dropped off charcoal, which was helpful. However, when went to use grill, it was too dirty to use.- large wet spot on carpet bottom of stairs in game room. Tried wiping/soaking it up, but no improvement. Possible leak? - sliding back door was very very difficult to open. Impossible for kids. - ants in the kitchen (on floor near garbage can, along the cabinets where the bar stools are). I alerted the owner of all of the above.Overall, unfortunately the above issues were enough to negatively impact our stay. Property owner did provide a small refund 100. While this was helpful, I don’t think it compensated for all of the disruptions we dealt with. I would not stay here again. The pluses were HUGE pluses, but unless all the problems were fixed, the pros don’t outweigh the cons for my group. If you do decide to stay here, would recommend water shoes for the beach- it’s rocky for the first 20 ish feet in the water before it’s sandy. But once you get to the sand there’s a great sandbar that we played on all day long.
Stayed with another family of 5. Plenty of room for all of us. We traveled here right before Christmas. Very peaceful! Saw lots of deer and the lake was a wonder to see with the ice formations. Visited Cranes Winery, some antique shops, and Sagatuck for a brewery. Hot tub was nice, lots of chlorine. Would love to come back in the summer.
This place was perfect for my bachelorette weekend! Super spacious -- even more than we expected. There were enough beds for everyone in our group of 7 and it was clean and well-maintained. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to hang out at the rental since there were so many amenities to enjoy!
Our stay was very nice. The home was very clean and the posting was very accurate. Vinay was very responsive and when an issue came up where we might have needed to cancel he was very understanding and flexible.
Overall our stay was good. We had plenty of space for the adults and the kids. It was great to have k cups for our morning coffee. The house has potential but just needs some updates, such as remove carpeting (especially on the stairs), get a different shower curtain rod in the upstairs bathroom and figure out the damp/smell of the house. The downstairs bathroom smelled too and we think it may be due to the washer. Originally the kids were going to sleep in the basement but we opted not too due to the smell and dampness. We were able to do some cooking at the house so it was nice to have the full kitchen and BBQ grill. The only downfall was the limitation of pans. We had to get creative with what we used to bake our French fries. It was nice that each of the upstairs rooms had a window unit so everyone could control their own temperature. A recommendation would to add a unit to the mid level bedroom.
Great house, but in need of deep clean and new kitchen tools/utensils
The house and location met our expectations, and Vinay was very attentive to our questions and needs while we were there. However, the house just needs a deep clean and some new kitchen tools/utensils. General surfaces were clean in the house, but the corners were dirty and getting a slight build up of cobwebs and dust. In the basement, the dehumidifier did not work, and there was visible mold on the speakers and some other wooden surfaces. In the kitchen, there were very few kitchen utensils, only 1-3 water glasses and 1 wine glass, small cutting board, very dull knifes, and old pots and pans. When these are updated and the house has a deep clean, we would definitely recommend the place and location.
The lovely home, beautiful kitchen, incredible setting, places to walk and the nearby small grocery made our time at the house fun and relaxing. Communication was great with helpful tips on getting to the water and nearby attractions. The hot tub soaked topped off each busy day.

Good location for Saugatuck and South Haven
I have stayed many times at VRBO properties and this house asked for a much higher damage deposit than any other place I have rented. This set my bar high for the conditions I expected at the house. I ended up taking over 40 photos of nicks and dings to defend in case of the keeping of any of this deposit. Upon arriving, we did not have sufficient instructions to get in the door lock and had to wait 1 1/2 hours for the contact to get back with us for those instructions. There was no instruction book in the house other than a page of hot tub rules. We figured out how to use most everything eventually. The house was not as clean as I would have expected. We immediately washed bathroom rugs since they were visibly dirty. We did not use the hot tub because we were leery of how clean it was based on the rest of the house. We ended up buying light bulbs to replace burned out bulbs in necessary locations. We also bought drinking water and even gallons to make coffee as the water quality was poor. With a little more effort on the part of the owner/cleaning crew, this could be a real gem. (The beach on Lake Michigan is much farther than a five minute walk and has 82 steps down-and up).
The house suited our needs very nicely. The only downside was the kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, pans were not very clean. It may have to do with the hard water on the property or the dishwasher not working properly. We washed everything we used before we used it. One other suggestion is to have a book with information on the house - how to use the TV, close by restaurants, etc. Vinay did send me info on the nearby restaurants and beaches and responded quickly when we couldn't figure out the TV but it would save him if it was all down in writing at the house. Other than that, our stay was very nice and we would stay there again.
Overall, a great family getaway in a quite neighborhood. The beach access close to house does have steep steps and there was not much of a “beach” there due to higher water levels. We ended up driving to a different beach to spend the day but still a close drive. We were unable to check in the day we originally planned for as storms came through a day earlier and the house was out of electric. Vinay did contact us in a timely manner to notify of the issues and reimbursed the day lost.
We stayed here for a family vacation and it was really nice! Very roomy house, with nice outdoor amenities. The beaches that are in the neighborhood that this house is in are just ok, but it’s close enough to other really nice beaches that it’s still a good location.
