Goura, for instance, is a larger village with a central square, a few tavernas serving local cuisine, and small shops. It's a bit more bustling than the immediate lakeside area but still retains a traditional feel. From here, it's an easy drive to Lake Doxa for outdoor activities.

For the most pleasant weather and access to outdoor activities, the best time to visit Feneos is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.During spring, the landscape is lush and green, with wildflowers in bloom, and temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. This makes it ideal for hiking around Lake Doxa or exploring the local villages without the intensity of summer heat.Autumn also offers comfortable temperatures, usually between 18°C and 28°C, and the scenery is beautiful with changing leaf colours. This season is great for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as the cooler evenings by the fireplace are very appealing, and the area is less crowded than in peak summer. While summer (July and August) is popular, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's best for those who enjoy warmer weather and swimming in the lake. However, it can be busier and less comfortable for extensive outdoor activities.
