Located on a sunny hilltop, the farmhouse blends into its surroundings. Smooth hills shape the landscape between the impressive Riegersburg fortress in the North and our neighbors in Slovenia. Most elevations are relics of long extincted volcanoes, more than 40 erupted millions of years ago in this area. The farmhouse is surrounded by a 20.000 m² garden. A pool promises refreshing dips in summer. Solar-heating makes it possible to swim here from May to October at least. Underneath the trees hammocks swing in the breeze. The extensive orchard offers a lovely place for everyone. Four apartments resembling each other are located inside the house. Depending on their size, they either offer one double room or a second bedroom with two twin beds. The fully equipped kitchen just waits to observe you turning local raw materials into delicious holiday dinners. The breakfast tastes best when enjoyed outdoors. On request we also prepare a regional breakfast in the former press. As hosts we are deeply rooted inside the region. Since decades we support and cooperate in the regional development strategy of this area called Vulkanland Steiermark. We happily offer you recommendations to make the most out of your stay. The highest density of culinary manufactories in Central Europe makes it hard to choose: Zotter chocolate, Vulcano ham, Gölles snaps and vinegar, Berghofer mill, pumpkin seeds refining, wine routes. Here, the heart of every gourmet gets excited. A number of well-known decorated restaurants complements the culinary delights. Several highlights may be reached on foot directly from the Sonnenhaus. More than 600 km of hiking paths meander through the region. They form a fire creature out in nature that awaits explorers. Hiking maps are available at the Sonnenhaus. We gladly help you choose the right trail for your excursion. To top it off, small wooden lanterns await you in the courtyard. They offer great company when going on an evening walk to the nearest Buschenschank, to enjoy a traditional cold meal. Good to know: WIFI is available in the common areas. Due to the thick walls reception is often spotty inside the apartments. During the colder months we provide you with bathing robes, in summer we forgo that in order to save energy. There are no air-conditioning units installed. The brick walls isolate very well. Together with airing the rooms during the cooler nights a comfortable indoor climate is possible even on hot summer days. Es gab ein Doppelbett in einem Schlafzimmer und zwei Einzelbetten im anderen Schlafzimmer. Dank der Familie Grandl (Inhaber) hatten wir eine wundervolle Zeit dort. Sie hat uns sämtliche Wünsche erfüllt und sich viel Mühe gegeben. Nach 7 Tagen wurde unsere Ferienwohnung gereinigt und wir haben neue Handtücher bekommen, da wir für 14 Nächte gebucht hatten. Das vor Ort dazu buchbare Frühstück war opulent und lecker. Was ich schön fand, ist dass es einen Kaffeevollautomaten im Frühstücksraum gibt, der rund um die Uhr nutzbar ist. Die Preise für den Kaffe, Tee und andere Dinge wie Saft, Bier und andere Getränke sind regionaltypischen und keinesfalls übertrieben. Alles in allem: TOP! ##### Johanna S. Buchungsdetails aber indiskutabel. Hatten eine FeWo mit 2 Schlafzimmern gebucht, max. war diese für 4 Personen ausgewiesen. Waren untergebracht in einer FeWo mit nur 1 Schlafzimmer und für die 3\. Person ein Zustellbett in der Wohnküche. Schuldbewusstsein der Vermieterin, dass das Objekt im Portal „FeWo-direkt“ nicht korrekt ausgewiesen sei-Fehlanzeige! Im direkten Portal der Unterkunft war die Ferienwohnung anders beschrieben und nur für 2 Personen ausgelegt. Wie kann sowas geschehen und die Vermieterin stellt sich diesbezüglich auch noch dumm?! Objekt trotzdem sehr sauber, gepflegte Gesamtanlage, sehr schöne Umgebung. Letztlich aber nur empfehlenswert, wenn man sich bei der Buchung sicher sein kann, auch die FeWo zugewiesen zu bekommen, die im Buchungsportal inseriert wurde! ##### Marcus K. De omgeving is mooi maar niet veel mogelijkheden om vlak te kunnen fietsen. Veel steile hellingen tot 18% en dat is niet ideaal om een fietstocht te maken. Verder weinig te beleven in de buurt. H. 27 Jun 2012 #### Appartement Sonnenhaus - Sonne innen und außen Das Haus hat 3 Ferienappartements und ist mit der Beschreibung gut zu finden, die Bilder versprechen nicht zuviel, es sieht tatsächlich so aus, mitten im Garten Natur ist ein wunderbar geschützter Swimmingpool untergebracht, er ist beheizt und überdacht und wurde von uns schon vor dem Frühstück benützt, auch am Abend sehr romantisch beleuchtet. Die Vermieter führen den Betrieb sehr umweltbewußt und geben gute Informationen für Restaurants weiter. Es gibt in der Sommersaison eine Genusscard, wir hatten uns eine Tour mit Elektrorädern zusammengestellt und aus den angebotenen Ausflugszielen 2 Gärten und eine Kernölmühle gewählt, durch das schöne Wetter haben wir die Karte in den restlichen Tagen wenig benützt und sind viel in den Hängematten gelegen. Der Einstieg in das markierte Radnetz liegt 200 Meter vom Betrieb entfernt. Der R11 entlang der Raab ist leicht erreichbar und gut zu fahren. Danke für die Schüssel mit den leckeren Erdbeeren! ##### G. H.
