About this property
Immaculate, Quiet & Secluded Mountain Home w/ Hot Tub, Game Room, Fireplace - Sugar Pine Lodge
Sugar Pine Lodge is a magnificent mountain retreat is nestled in the deep woods just 25 miles from Breckenridge. It is a great area to stay because you can still ski and stay in a secluded luxurious home instead of a noisy condominium with traffic jams. You can still dine, shop, and enjoy the entertainment in Breckenridge as it is only 25 miles away. The home is totally secluded and surrounded by woods but yet is only 5 minutes from Highway 9. The views of the mountains are breath-taking. The white-capped Mountains are visible from the great room, dining room, upper deck, lower porch, and the recreation room. The home is decorated tastefully with cabin decor. It looks like it is straight out of Log Homes Illustrated Magazine. It has all the modern amenities but is surrounded by natural beauty. It's far enough away from the crowd to be secluded and private but close enough to get to skiing, sites, restaurants, supplies, etc. nearby.
The spacious living room has seating for 8-10 and has a cozy wood-burning fireplace (you'll want to bring wood to enjoy!). There are two master suites and three full baths. The master suite and bath on the main level have a private bath and a huge walk-in closet. The other master suite upstairs has a queen bed and flat screen TV. Both Baths are huge with 2 sinks and a tub/shower combination with beautiful custom slate. There is also a loft with a cozy reading room just down the hall from the upstairs master suite. Downstairs there is a large recreation room with a gas stove, a flat screen TV with Dish and streaming. There is a separate room with a poker table, a full size wet bar, and two bunk beds where the kiddos or the adults can hang out. The gorgeous bar with small fridge, microwave and bar sink to make your snacks and drinks, while watching a movie on the big screen TV in the adjoining recreation room. There is a huge WindRiver hot tub on the deck with amazing views! Relax after a day of skiing or hiking!
In winter, (four-wheel drive is required), there's Breckenridge world class skiing within 25 miles. Numerous other ski venues (Copper Mtn., Keystone, Vail, Monarch, Ski Cooper) are within another 1/2 an hour of Breckenridge. Other winter activities nearby include cross country skiing, Snowmobiling. During the summer, there's white water rafting, hiking, ATV trails, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping. You can relax and just enjoy the natural beauty or head out to the nearby towns/resorts/parks, and enjoy the unlimited winter and summer activities the area has to offer.
In the summer you will be in the center of all activities including old mine ruins, Montgomery Reservoir, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Quandary and many more. Fairplay (just 10 miles away) is the activity center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is often referred to as the Base Camp for all activities some of which include hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, 4-wheeling, ATVing, mine exploring, canoeing, kayaking, and much much more. Alma is only 5 minutes away and offers dining, shopping, and entrances to some of the most beautiful drives in Colorado such as Kite Lake, Bristlecone Pines, and Mosquito Pass, and the trail heads to many of the famous 14ers.
If you can think of an outdoor activity, you will probably find it within 10-20 minutes of the cabin. It is a great home to call your "Base Camp". This is a beautiful home to spend any season of the year. The access is easy and 4-wheel drive is not needed in the summer but is recommended in the winter months. Breckenridge is only 30 minutes away and the road is always kept open. It is an absolutely beautiful drive with very little traffic. If you come in on I-70 you can literally spend hours going 20 miles from the highway to Breckenridge, so this is a fabulous option for those wanting to ski.

Amazing views, beautiful house! Clean, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen. Hot tube was nice to enjoy in the cool evenings. Fireplace was great, make sure to bring firewood. We were disappointed there was no dvd player but lots of dvds. There were cable channels to watch and only Netflix to stream. Management company was communicative before and during our stay.
Great spot with lovely views. Spacious home with well equipped kitchen. Having hot tub was wonderful after a day spent fishing in the beautiful Colorado outdoors. Really enjoyed our stay.
Totally pleased with our stay in Fairplay CO. From the booking to check out, our experience was seamless. Thank you Sugar Pine Lodge and Second Home Vacation Rentals!
It was a great stay.
Little disappointed as we saw there was a game room in the listing but no pool table onsite and no other real game options available
Beautiful property and very clean
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the mountains! The cabin was GORGEOUS and the views were magnificent! Everything was perfect for us and exactly how it is pictured. We definitely will be going back, hopefully very soon!
My husband and I chose the house as it was far enough from Denver to feel like a getaway but not too far for travel time in the car.
We had a nice time relaxing I the mountains and enjoy the home very much. The house was very comfortable and had a beautiful view from the deck.

My family really enjoyed this cabin. We loved the views the beds were super comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay again. The only thing that was disappointing was the washer didn't work and we were limited on towels. Otherwise we had an amazing time.
My family and I really enjoyed staying here. It is peaceful and we were able to go on walks and even spot animals from the porch. It was perfect for our little family if 3 and would couldn’t have asked for a better house to come back to after our daily adventures. We loved Fairplay and Alma and it was close enough to several big attractions. We will definitely be back!
The house was exactly as advertised. Fantastic views. Secluded but very accessible and an easy drive over to Breckenridge and Frisco. You for sure need the 4 wheel drive especially in the winter months. The house has everything you need to be comfortable.
The property was a beautiful cabin, excellent for hiking and sight seeing with access to lots of beautiful areas. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. The rooms were versatile for different groups and the beds were comfy with sheets and blankets whatever you need. Thanks to the owners and property managers that made booking easy, communicated well before and leading into the stay. We had an amazing stay and would gladly recommended to frienda and family and we would definitely be looking to stay again in the future!
I absolutely love this cabin. The communication with the property management company was awesome. Very responsive in a timely manner. The cabin had everything we needed. The beauty surrounding this cabin is stellar. Thank you very much for hosting us!
The cabin is very nice and very well-maintained. You can definitely tell this is a rental property as opposed to a personal home. It was in a very quiet location. Unfortunately, the hot tub has restrictions on kids using it, so that was kind of a bummer. While the property was very nice, there were a lot of maintenance issues with the water/faucets, indoor wood stove and gas stove, front door lock, and outside gas stove. All the kitchen appliances worked appropriately and it was nice to be able to do our laundry before our journey home. It was a wonderful day but needs a little TLC/maintenance!
We loved everything about the lodge and the location. Beautiful views, nice hot
tub and plenty of hiking trails close by. Kitchen was equiped with everything needed (except potato peeler, scissors and bottle opener). Very comfirtal bed and furnature. Loved the accent furnature pieces.
Lovedaccent furnature pieces.
We really enjoyed our annual gathering in the Fairplay/Alma area. This cabin is the highest elevation we ever stayed (11,200 ft). The on and off snow was beautiful.
The cabin is advertised. Very clean and comfortable. Also, one of the best kitchens we have come across. Hot tub was not as clean as it should have been which is why I knocked it one star.
the place was great. very very nice house. exactly as is pictured. we loves it. only negative was there was no firewood for fireplace and what is sold at the store is not good easy burning wood and expensive. would recomend that firewood be provided for guests is all. other than that the place was perfect. thank you so much.
Terrific mountain house. Everything was in very good condition, comfy beds, etc. A few small complaints: I think a rental should have basic toiletries and some tissues, but at least they disclosed that. I would’ve preferred window coverings that blocked the morning light better. And it’d be helpful to know that the house is 20 minutes from the center of town.
