Our cabin is more than a place to stay—it's a destination for those seeking serenity, adventure, and awe-inspiring views at 11,000 feet.
Nestled on 23 private acres bordered by the pristine Pike National Forest, this true log cabin offers ultimate seclusion at the end of a tree-lined drive. With ample space and breathtaking views, it's the perfect spot for family bonding or a romantic couple's getaway. Check out our reviews. :)
Our property is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, all with a cozy cabin to come home to after a day of exploration.
Wildlife Encounters: Spot moose, elk, fox, bear, mountain sheep, and even beavers from your deck.
Adjacent Pike National Forest offers treed hillsides, scenic trails, moose habitats, and even a seasonal waterfall. You can even hike all the way to Mt. Sherman if you like.
Designed for comfort and charm, the cabin includes: 3 Bedrooms + Loft & 2 Bathrooms for family or group flexibility and a fully stocked kitchen. Large Covered Deck: Wraps around three sides, providing panoramic mountain views and the peaceful sound of flowing water. Private Gated Entry: The long driveway and gated entrance enhance your sense of seclusion and peace. Truly feels like you've got your own Rocky Mountain paradise.
Firewood for the wood stove is included along with propane for the gas grill and plenty of outdoor seating.
Perfectly Situated for Mountain Day Trips! From the cabin, enjoy easy access to nearby attractions: Breckenridge (35 mins): World-class skiing, snowboarding, and golfing. Buena Vista (40 mins): Thrilling whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River, horse back riding or Hot Spring soaking. Fairplay (Close by): Historic South Park, renowned trout fishing, ATV rentals and local amenities.
Altitude Notice: With the cabin’s high-altitude location (11K feet), guests should acclimate upon arrival. We recommend drinking plenty of water, limiting alcohol and caffeine, and taking it easy for the first day or two to ensure a comfortable stay. The whole area is high altitude with Breckenridge at 10K. If anyone in your group has been or may be affected by altitude, we recommend staying at a lower elevation.
Embrace the rare opportunity to stay in a setting so remarkable it was chosen for a music video. Mountain Creek Lodge is where cherished memories are made—surrounded by nature’s grandeur and the true spirit of the Rocky Mountains.

Beautiful piece of property and a cute cabin. Some extra things *could* have been done in cleaning prior to our stay, but overall, a great experience. Very quiet and the hosts are accommodating. Would be honored to visit again some day!!
We loved everything about the cabin! The views were amazing, the moose came right up along the driveway, and our girls loved fishing in the pond. We can’t wait to come back!
This is a wonderful property that is as advertised! The natural beauty, the wildlife, the privacy, the comfort and the easy access to the convenience of town make it a very special place.
We spent a wonderful stay at Monica’s Cabin. She always was very nice and attended all the answers we had and gave us advice about the zone. The cabin is nested in a remote but amazing landscape yet close to the beautiful town Fairplay. The wilderness surrounds the place and it’s a joy to feel the spring breeze sitting at the porch.Thank you very much to Monica for sharing that little piece of paradise.
This place was incredibly peaceful all around. We loved the solitude and natural beauty out every window! We even watched a moose waltz around the property the whole time we stayed! The cabin itself was clean and tidy! The hosts are wonderful and attentive.
We love this cabin and hope to come back again! The house is lovely and has all the amenities. But the property is what’s really special. Great fishing right outside the cabin. Our son caught over 30 brookies during our stay!! Gorgeous views and awesome hiking.
Absolutely amazing. My family and I will definitely stay here again. Breath taking view, loved that it was secluded, and peaceful. My kids enjoyed playing in the snow. This place really exceeded my family's expectations. Overall , a great place to stay at.
My family and I spent the long Labor Day weekend at this fantastic log cabin in the mountains. What a beautiful and relaxing location. I could sit all day just looking out at the mountains and listening to the babbling Sacramento Creek that cuts through the property. The complete darkness of the night offers incredible star viewing.
Stunning views with the relaxing sounds of the creek in the background. Several trails were within 30 minutes and under drive time from the cabin. Secluded and full of wildlife yet still close to town. We loved staying here, thank you for sharing your home with us!
This home exceeds expectations. The setting is incredible in both beauty and solitude. We saw over 40 different types of wildflowers when we hiked up the ridge and we enjoyed amazing views of the surrounding peaks. The house is well appointed and supplies. It a great getaway.
We had an absolute wonderful stay at this house. Everything is as advertised. It is in a remote and quiet place in the wilderness. Moose sightings everyday sometimes within 50-60 feet of the house or driveway. If you want to get away from the noise and traffic of the city, this is a place you should consider for sure.
Thank you once again Monica and Charlie for opening your home up for guests to enjoy this fabulous property. No matter what weather surprises come our way, we always enjoy the solitude and spectacular views. Unfortunately, we saw no moose this time, but plenty of woodpeckers waking us up each morning. We'll be back again soon. Thanks again. Bill and Jill
Absolutely magical weekend getaway! This mountain cabin in Colorado was everything we hoped for and more. Nestled in a truly remote and peaceful location, it offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The views were absolutely breathtaking— a mountain stream, snow-capped peaks, and stunning views of the valley, right from the porch. One of the biggest highlights was the incredible wildlife—we were lucky enough to spot moose on several occasions. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and beautifully maintained. Every detail felt thoughtful and intentional, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts were exceptional—responsive, kind, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic retreat with a true Colorado wilderness experience, this place is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to come back!
This is such a beautiful cabin set back in the mountain valley. Looking at the scenery and listening to the creek was just the tranquility we needed.
We saw 6 moose! 2 from the cabin porch and 4 others on the road to/from the cabin, also had mule deer at the cabin multiple times. Beds were super comfortable, and we felt right at home, even enjoyed a few fires in the woodstove.
The high altitude at the cabin is really felt and physically hindering since we had a cold while visiting.
Our dog did great and loved playing in the creek. Thank you so much for allowing pets!
We came into town early for a wedding in Denver and spent a few nights before here before heading down. This is the quintessential Colorado mountain home you imagined. High elevation in between two higher peaks with a trout stream and pond running through the property. Quiet and secluded but not hard to get to at all. The stars were amazing and even loved the early 8" of snowfall that quickly went away. About the only downside was we did not see the Moose that everyone else wrote about. We did many hikes around Hosier Pass, walked around Breckenridge and went horseback riding in the changing Aspens down towards Fairplay.
This was our third year staying at this wonderful cabin. Our vacation ran from August 8th - 17th, this was a late planned vacation. We shall call this vacation "The Year of the Bull Moose". The wildlife was abundant this year especially the two bull moose who hung out most days close to the cabin.
Colorado was amazing as always and this year led us on many adventures. We brought kayaks from home and had a great time on Spinney Mountain Reservoir. The kids hiked around the cabin to the top of the peak one afternoon. We drove to Breckenridge twice and had a wonderful time sightseeing.
We enjoy the proximity of Fairplay to the cabin and running to get items at Prather's Market.
This vacation was a wonderful opportunity for Rick and I to hang out with the kids. Our dog loves running the moose trails around the cabin, he loves to run and get a drink in the creek that runs through the property.
This is an excellent vacation location for us. Hope to come back again in the future.

I always spend days searching for a rental with complete privacy and something off the beaten path. This cabin was PERFECT! The photos do not do it justice! It has a BREATHTAKING view of the mountain valley and sits on a pond that we fly fished and creeks just outside the cabin. The sound of the creek was so peaceful! We sat in the adirondack chairs with coffee every morning and watched the bull moose wander by almost every day of our stay. Just be aware if you hike around since they can by laying down in the brush nearby. We fed the chipmunks & blue jay everyday on the porch posts. The cabin itself is VERY clean, cozy & comfortable in every way. We had a fire in the wood stove which warmed up the entire cabin. The kitchen was the most well-stocked of any rental we've ever stayed in. The owner truly has all the details covered. It felt like HOME! And, it's only 15 minutes to town!
Although everything about the rental was perfect, unfortunately my husband and I experienced altitude sickness (the cabin sits at 11,000 feet). My husband got better after 48 hours but I did not. I had SEVERE headaches with a scary amount of head pressure(not your normal migraine), nausea & fatigue. They got worse at night. Almost DebiIitating. I am in great shape & very active so this took me by surprise. Please do your research on altitude sickness. We ended leaving a day early I just couldn't get any relief even with oxygen cans & Motrin. I was so sad to leave this peaceful place! Just book it!
