Unfortunately, I had been in and out of the cottage taking care of some final touches while I prepared the college for the season. Being so close to the beach it's easy to track in sand. I was remiss and not double checking that. I hope my refund of $125 helped with the extra effort of having to sweep out the sand from the living room floor. I apologize for the oversight. Dish towels another final touch I forgot. We did provide paper towels I hope that was adequate. I'm glad you enjoyed the location and we hope to see you again.

Thank you for your observations. In the summer we have back-to-back reservations so it's hard to keep up with the ever-present weeds. As a result of this review I will step up my efforts in trying to control the weeds. Since your stay I have purchased high quality outdoor patio floor coverings.. we just painted The patio walls this year. I have scheduled the patio floor for the spring. We hope this won't deter a return trip. I would be happy to reduce the rate by 10% as compensation for this oversight thanks again for your observations. These reviews are what helps us keep on top of the concerns for our guests.

Thanks for your insights. Especially about the wicker couch. Had I known about it while you were here I would have remedied this situation right away. The stainless steel cushion chairs outside were purchased less than 2 years ago. As were the outside dining table chairs. And the grill is brand new. As you can imagine, the elements take a heavy toll on outdoor furniture, especially by the ocean. Because we are family-friendly it's always a Gamble to spend more money on indoor furnishings. As I'm sure you're aware, children are very hard on furniture. Another way we try to keep our costs down is to minimize our overhead. I will certainly bring your observations to my partners attention.

I'm sorry you found our place too expensive, even with the refund we gave you for the inconvenience of the road work. I research the rates of similar properties annually. You mentioned the last time you stayed in the area was 3 years ago. For context, 3 years ago this property was $195 per night. I'm sorry you found the furniture uncomfortable. It's difficult sometimes when you have to weigh comfort with space. As a result of your review, I will pick up some larger plush throw pillows for the sleeping alcove single bed. That could double as a couch. This is a perfect illustration of how this review process is supposed to function . Thankyou

There was a mix up with our Laundry service. When the guest arrived the beds were still stripped . The cleaning service had cleaned earlier that day but had not made the beds because our laundry service was late dropping off fresh linens. There was a communication issue with the cleaning service and I was not notified. I arrived early and noticed the beds were stripped and the clean linens were still folded in the laundry bag. I assured the guest that the cottage had been cleaned but the linens arrived late from the laundry service. As I was making up the bed the guest became animated and irate. I tried to be as understanding as I could . I even asked if he would be more comfortable if I located alternative accommodations for him. He declined that offer. This property is directly on the beach. It's difficult to get every spec of sand off the floors. Since this complaint, we have implemented a different mopping procedure. This has made an improvement. When the guest called about the hot water issue, I responded in person2 times that weekend. Each time the hot water was fine. On Monday I did get a plumber to go out there. He did not find an issue with the hot water either. I did purchase the guest a $50.00 gift certificate for a local restaurant.

These guests were ideal. They were very respectful of the property clean and quiet . They left the property immaculate . We would be happy to have them back anytime!
