About this property
Your Hive Away From Home!!
About this space Your Hive Away From Home!! (Get it? Bee Hive?!) Our 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is set on 3 beautifully secluded acres in the hills above Fairbanks with 2 Peaceful Bee Hives working hard to collect as much honey as possible while summer is in full swing! If you are looking for an escape from the craziness of life and ready for a break, look no further. We are an easy 15 min drive from all the amenities of town, but the peace and quiet you will gain are unmatched. We look forward to hosting you! The space Our home is in a well spread out neighborhood and the beautiful Northern Boreal Forest in between each house provides ample buffer to make you feel like you are all alone. In reality however, town is only 15 minutes away with the Fox General Store being half that (they have basic necessities like brownies and milk when your wife has a pregnancy craving!).
This distance from town makes a big difference during the months when it actually gets dark (September-April) as you are far enough away from the light pollution to see the Northern Lights completely unobstructed. Our property is very open and if the Northern Lights are out, you will see them from our house!!
In the summer, you will love the HUGE maintained yard and wrap around deck. There are several trails you can explore that leave directly from behind our property. Also feel free to check out the garden, as well as the wild Raspberries scattered around the yard (season dependent of course).
The first floor holds the cozy and well stocked kitchen, living room, master bedroom (Queen Bed), and bathroom. Upstairs is a combined bedroom (Full bed) and office area. The home is heated by an oil stove that keeps it quite toasty, and there are fans available for the rare extra hot days! Guest access The entire house is available for guest use except for a small closet under the stairs. The home sits on almost 3 acres and you are welcome to enjoy the deck, entire yard, and small garden or go explore the wild areas and see if you can find wild raspberries. We also have 2 honey bee hives (the gentlest strain of honey bees possible working on the edge of the property). The trails behind the house are open to explore, but be mindful of our neighbors and respect their privacy (If you can even find them! There aren't very many neighbors!) Other things to note In the summer (Mid May-Mid September), any vehicle can easily reach our home. It is fully paved until the last 1/2 mile and then it turns to a well maintained gravel road. Once it starts to snow, an AWD or 4WD vehicle is highly recommended!

This was a perfectly lovely location. It was not too far out of town, and very nice place. Well stocked and very comfortable. The host was quick to communicate.
This house is cozy in a quiet neighborhood north of Fairbanks. It has easy access to the dipping in Fairbanks as well as the remote location where I could see Aurora from the front driveway. The place was clean and exactly what we expected from the posting. The owners were friendly and great hosts.
The property was well stocked and maintained. There wasn’t anytime during our stay that we were needing something additional in the cabin. The deck has a nice patio set which we utilized during breakfast/lunch. It is very quiet and peaceful.
This property sits on a big forest clearing perfect for viewing the northern lights. To see if the lights is out there, we just have to sit in the house, toasty and comfortable, look out of the large window, and when it appears, walk out of the house and view it. It’s a private road so you won’t get unwanted street light and headlights.Host is a wonderful person. Easy going and caring.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was very thoughtfully furnished and clean and overall very quiet and relaxing. The only thing that didn't quite fit us was the dining arrangement, as we came with small children and the dining nook is elevated. We ended up eating while sitting on the floor. Not a big deal, just including this detail to help others manage their own expectations. For what it's worth, the dining arrangement that is there is really nice, it's just designed for people bigger than small kids in mind. Would LOVE to stay here again someday.
We had a great stay at this cozy rental! The house was clean, inviting, and far better stocked than other properties we’ve stayed at, saving us from having to buy or go without essentials. The washer and dryer were far better than others we’ve experienced, though the washer door’s opening direction was awkward. The host was responsive and promptly addressed concerns and issues. One safety concern was the missing gutter end cap near the front door, creating an icy surface. The kitchen had everything we needed. I also enjoyed the freshwater delivery. It was so nice to have freshwater instead of well water, which often smells like sulfur. The mudroom was more than just practical. It added charm and convenience with its coat hanger, boot tray, bench, etc. The location was quiet and peaceful yet close to main roads, and on clear nights, we saw the aurora from the front yard!Overall, this rental felt like home, with thoughtful touches that made our stay comfortable!
The house was great—cozy, well stocked for actual living with a kitchen with cooking tools to prepare real meals. Comfy beds and living room, and, solid internet. We loved coming home here! Good distance from town for less light pollution, but still close for errands. We had no issue with roads during our winter stay, as the roads to the house were well maintained in our experience. The host was polite, thoughtful, and quick to help resolve a question that came up due to how I booked the house—I appreciate her help! Would definitely stay again when back in town.
Wonderful! We could not have asked for a better experience! A beautiful home in such a quiet, lovely location. Check-in instructions were very clear and easy. The home is spacious for its size, clean, very functional and comfortable. The location was perfect for us since we have family nearby. Theodora was a pleasure to work with and we can't wait to come back!
What a lovely, cozy home away from home! Beautiful setting, quiet and will be our number one choice for a return to Fairbanks! Communication with the property manager was excellent!

We stayed in the house for 4 days and able to see aurora (northern lights) from the porch of the house! Actually we were able to see it from inside the house even without having to wear coats and pants. It’s great location if you want to see aurora without traveling far during the midnight. I have 7year old son, and he wanted to sleep just before the aurora appears. So it was great convenience that we were able to see from the house.
The response from the host were very quickly and host were attentive to our questions.
The house was clean, and warm enough to keep us stay comfortably. The kitchen was equipped with cooking tools and utensils.
If I want to see aurora in Fairbanks, I would definitely go back!
