The stone farmhouse sits at 600 meters altitude and offers views over the surrounding countryside with chestnut forests, and steep wooded mountains. It is a little paradise from which one can hike all the mountain trails and visit the historical cities of central Tuscany. Gallicano with all facilities is at 10kms, Barga is at 18kms and Lucca is at 50kms. Firenze and the seaside at Forte dei Marmi are an hour’s and half drive away. This is a beautiful apartment (Capanne 2) with a private entrance on the front part of the cottage, slightly hidden by the corner of a house. In front of the apartment is a small, well placed terrace, from which one has a magnificent view of the Apuan Alps. Inside, a wooden staircase leads upwards. On the right, two steps down, is the dining room with a typical Tuscan fireplace and a bed couch. A balcony divides the kitchen area, including a gas-stove, fridge and oven, and the dining room. Two doors lead away from the kitchen: one to a double bedroom, the other to a bathroom and shower, one step higher. The room has a number of arched windows. This was probably the “METATO” of the house (an ancient Roman term used for a room in which chestnuts were stored and left to dry). Returning to the entrance, the wooden staircase leads up to a room with a double bed and a door to a small bathroom including a sink, toilet and shower. The roof of the room is tilted and about 1 meter high at the lowest point. Entspannung und Erholung in traumhafter Umgebung. Die Wohnungen sind sauber, gepflegt und typisch toskanisch und liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Garten ist wunderschön. Von der Terrasse und vom Pool aus hat man einen fantastischen Blick über die apuanischen Alpen. Natur pur! Die Anfahrt erfolgt über schmale Bergstraßen - immer brav hupen! Im Supermarkt in Gallicano bekommt man alles, was man alltäglich benötigt. Es gibt diverse Ausflugsziele (zb Pisa, Lucca...), dazu kann man sich immer auch Rat bei Daniele einholen. Er ist auch regelmäßig vor Ort, falls Fragen aufkommen. Es war ein wundervoller Familienurlaub und wir werden wieder hinfahren. ##### Tanja K. Die Unterkunft/Wohnung ist toll und auch mit vielen kleinen Dingen und Details schön eingerichtet. Alles was man in einer Ferienwohnung an Ausstattung benötigt, ist vorhanden. Alles funktioniert und es ist gepflegt. Tasche auspacken und man fühlt sich wie zuhause. Das gesamte Grundstück ist eigentlich noch schöner, als auf den Fotos. Toll angelegt, der Pool neu gemacht, Tische im Freien vor den 4 verschiedenen Wohnungen zum Essen, gemütlich Sitzen oder abends was mit der Familie spielen. Stühle, Sitzgruppen oder Hängematte im Garten, man fühlt sich sofort wohl und kann sich entspannen. Verschiedene Terrassen mit vielen Pflanzen geben dem Grundstück ein tolles Flair. Unsere Kinder wollten den Pool gar nicht verlassen, der auch groß genug ist um morgens einige Bahnen zu schwimmen. Die Umgebung bietet auch einiges an Tagesausflugszielen (Lucca, Wanderung auf die nahegelegenen Berge, Höhlen…) - man muss lediglich einplanen, dass durch die kleinen und teilweise sehr engen Straßen durch die Berge auch vermeintlich kurze Strecken etwas länger dauern. Die Kommunikation mit Daniele war auch perfekt. Wir wurden sehr gut informiert und willkommen. Daniele war immer hilfsbereit bei Fragen zu Freizeitzielen oder Restaurants etc. Auf WhatsApp-Nachrichten hat er immer innerhalb weniger Minuten geantwortet. Wir haben die Woche in Vergémoli sehr genossen und die Wohnung auch schon Freund:innen und Kolleg:innen weiterempfohlen. Eigentlich dürfte ich nicht so schwärmen, damit es ein Geheimtipp bleibt. ##### T. D. Der Gastgeber hat uns am Einkaufszentrum abgeholt und uns so den Weg gezeigt. Da er täglich den Pool gesäubert hat, konnten wir am Tag vorher bei ihm Brot bestellen. Der Ausblick ist fantastisch und die tage am Pool waren sehr erholsam. Einzig die abendlichen Besuche vereinzelter Skropione musste man in Kauf nehmen. The location is amazing, with breathtaking views. Really peaceful too. The house is lovely and has everything you would need for a holiday. The house is located 30 min drive on a very narrow mountain pass, from the closest town - Gallicano. The caves are well worth visiting and a hike to Calomini Hermitage is also recommended. The facilities were basic, but everything worked and our stay was perfectly comfortable. Internet connection was intermittent due to location. We enjoyed a peaceful and restful stay at this house! Daniele and his family have done such an amazing job in making your holiday exactly as it should be: they are lovely people. The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The pool is gorgeous and the garden well kept. A real idyll. Davide, the owner, is very helpful and has a lot of good suggestions on things to do in the area.
