Great welcome and very friendly. Central and easy walk to the hub of the city and Cathedral. Accommodation comfortable, clean and quiet. Parking at the rear and a very good self service breakfast.

We stopped over night on the way to Calais from the Dordogne great position easy parking friendly helpful staff would certainly recommend for an overnight stay. Good choice of restaurants and plenty of bars young community so good entertaining area. There are some lovely buildings to look at the architecture.

Good central location with on-street parking (free overnight) around the hotel and easy walk to restaurants and shops. Hotel itself rather tired but everything worked, and check-in was easy and friendly.

Old world charm

Lovely old hotel now looking a little bit dilapidated but really adds to its old world charm. Secure parking at the rear but make sure you get the code to the garage door before you go out - guess how I know! Nice lively town with lots of bars/restaurants

Hotel in transition

Could be a great hotel but it needs its restaurant and bar open. We were given good instructions to a great meal at a pub within 5 minutes walk.

Excellent as always. Given a room upgrade to a larger room, very clean and newly refurbished, very comfy bed. Staff helpful and always polite. Fabulous breakfast, great selection.

Old building that feels tired but is also quite quaint. The location for the centre town is great and parking is very secure. The room we had had been modernised and was just fine. No aircon in room so if hot it might be uncomfortable. Great for one night stop off if travelling through France as we were.

Variable comfort and weak Wi-Fi.

Return stay en route . Room comfortable and ultra clean. The room (no 30) is exterior accessed and probably the furthest from reception which might be a factor in the very weak Wi-Fi which I couldn’t access. A visit to reception got me online but by the time I had walked back it had gone again. I even received a message saying ‘move closer’! Other than sitting in reception all evening this is hopeless. The most irritating aspect was the circulation pump which switched on and off throughout the evening and night every 2 minutes. As a result, our sleep was disturbed (understatement) as the noise emanating from the corner of the room next to the bathroom began with a groan and squeak and then whirred loudly before switching off after ten seconds. Then silence until it switched on again two minutes later . I know because I timed it! Had we been staying longer than one night I would have asked for a different room. We will not stay in the hotel again if allocated this room or, indeed, the room below which must also be similarly affected.
