Well maintained hotel with friendly and efficient staff. Close to all amenities and the Metro, but nevertheless in a quiet street - 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Nice touches with complimentary port, cherry liqueur and afternoon tea with pastries. We had a sudden need for medical assistance late in the evening and the staff were brilliant in getting it sorted. Extremely comfortable room with all you need, especially, a large bed, comfortable chairs and terrific shower - great for relaxing...

The verdes is a unique and glorious hotel from its location - 15 minutes walk to centre - to its transport link - tram (15or 25) / bus 714 /727) or train/metro from Santos ( 5 min walk) to its ever so helpful staff to its honesty bar which is so good you want to pay ..The hotel itself is on 4 floors with a terrace next to the library ( yes it is a library with old leathers chairs and books ) which also holds the kitchen which has tea and coffee and homemade biscuits free of charge as well as the...

Very nice hotel, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast even with a chocolate fountain.

Adequate hot and cold breakfast. Room and bathroom plenty big enough for a base with a complimentary decanter of excellent Port. The hotel is located within the outer castle walls up a delightful narrow cobblestoned street where some of the houses have caged birds outside their doors, as well as...

The building itself is amazing and beautifully restored. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help. Best breakfast ever!!!

Great hotel location near metro, breakfast was the highlight of the stay, amazing selection and plenty to set up for a day of exploring

But once inside, it is genuinely a lovely property. The noise from upstairs is very noticable and they just seemed to be quitely living - you can hear every step they take. We were lucky as it only really...
