This was an excellent place to stay while visiting Estes Park. It was a 15 minute drive to town. I especially enjoyed the easy hike 5minutes away around the lake. The staff was very nice and helpful. The mountain views from the deck were amazing. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful quaint resort! Staff was great! I didn’t have time to enjoy any of the amenities, but I’d definitely stay again and hopefully get to try the multiple amenities, including the oxygen bar! My room was good, bed was comfy, and BEAUTIFUL views!
The location was a very nice mountain experience, with views of Longs Peak. The altitude, at 9200 feet, was a little problem for me, but it was very quiet and peaceful. The grounds are beautiful, although the service roads need some maintenance, with many large potholes. But I would stay there again.

We loved the idea of this place, but we were not happy with the old pillows and how musty the room was. All activities and restaurant was closed already. Due to the end of the season. We were not aware of this do to being peak season at the park. The hotel was very clean and the staff were great. Driving in was a very poor road and seeing the rundown cabins first was a shock. Motel looks lovely. Love the deck off the room.
I would definitely come back because it’s close to the hiking spots we were visiting, and they have hiking trails right from the property too. It’s super cozy. The staff is phenomenal. It’s clean. They offer oxygen services and massages, among other activities.
We didn’t have any cell coverage there and the WiFi that did over was very restricted. Slow and hard to get online pull up info on trails or what to do in the Rocky Mountains. Otherwise, nice views and relaxing. No TV so it was a nice chance to unplug.
We loved this stay! If you love nature and a little get away this is perfect! An easy 15ish minute drive to Estes Park. There was no tv, no cell service, and very spotty wifi.. which I loved!! But if you needed service for any reason, just a quick 5 min drive up the road you can get some. The rooms do not have a kitchen, but we just brought a small propane grill and made our own food. Then just used the shared microwave and warmed up leftovers. Our room was clean and ready for our stay. The staff were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The fan in the room was not usable because it made so much noise. It was fairly warm while I was there so it was hard to get to sleep. There was only one tiny tiny fridge to share between all of the rooms on the lower level. If I wanted to use the microwave, I had to unplug the fridge to plug in the microwave. I felt like the staff was not super friendly. The wifi did not work most of the time. It appeared as they would just turn it off at times.
The location was beautiful and scenic.
Staff was almost impossible to find. Coffee only in the lobby was rarely made. Not one time in 4 days were we offered towels or anything for our room. The best thing about that place was the view.
Great hospitality and clean rooms, but weak Wi-Fi
The staff at this hotel are wonderful, friendly, and highly cooperative. Even though we checked in late around 7:30 PM just as the front desk was closing up, the agent was incredibly patient and fully explained all the facilities to us. Our room was clean, non-smoking, and very comfortable. My only complaint is the connectivity. There is absolutely no mobile data network reception here. The property does offer Wi-Fi, but it was not strong or reliable enough during our stay. If the Wi-Fi had worked well, I would have given this property a perfect 5/5 rating. Still a very nice place to stay if you do not mind being offline.
Property was very rustic. No TV, no coffee maker in the room or mini fridge.
Coffee served at 8:30 with Muffins.
Very peaceful sitting
Staff cooperative and nice. No daily cleaning of rooms
We were visiting our daughter who was working at a camp down the road, and landed at the Dao House. We stayed in the lodge, which was beautiful. Our room had a door to a shared balcony and hummingbirds were everywhere. We had 2 queen beds for my family, and the room arrangement worked really well for the four of us (2 teens).
Everything was very clean and the staff was beyond helpful. We went horseback riding at Elkhorn stables on the property, which made for a great afternoon. My hubby and kids enjoyed tennis and basketball on site, and we took advantage of the books and games down the hall. Although they don't really offer breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised to find they had muffins along with the tea and coffee. We had stopped by Safeway in Estes Park for milk, cereal, oatmeal, etc. We were able to keep perishables in the community mini fridge and heat what we needed in the microwave.
Some of the cabins looked like they could use a fresh coat of paint, but the property was beautiful and relaxing and a wonderful get away. We would stay there again.

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, the parking area was pretty chewed up and if they put on the website that there was no TV we didn’t see it. The Wi-Fi did not support streaming and cut in and out. We OKgot no housekeeping on our two days stay. We also had a balcony, but the lock would not open. We also did not pursue this so part of that’s on us. On the upside, the bed was clean and comfortable & the bathroom was small, but lovely. Reasonably accessible to Rocky Mountain national Park.
Great stay at this beautiful location. The staff was welcoming, the room was exactly what we were looking for, the property is walkable and the views were fantastic.
