Charming Cabin In The Pines
Our cozy, charming cabin has everything you might need for an amazing, peaceful or adventurous, stay near Rocky Mountain National Park (4.7mi or a 12 min drive). Nestled in the trees on 1 acre in a quiet residential neighborhood, quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. We have plenty of free parking in the private driveway, easy access summer or winter. 4 steps with a sturdy handrail lead from the driveway up to the deck and front door. (We live right across the road in case you need anything during your stay but insure you have the privacy you need.)
Our cabin is conveniently located on the south side of town, between Highways 34 & 36, no need to fight summer in-town traffic after a long day of hiking or exploring. And yet we are just a 6 min drive or very pleasant 2 mile walk along the paved Lake Estes trail to the center of downtown.
Our cabin is a short 2 minute walk to the paved Lake Estes Trail which will lead you to several beautiful spots in Wapiti Meadows for fly-fishing on the Big Thompson River or to the Estes Lake Marina. Following the Lake Estes Trail the other direction will lead you to Lake Estes picnic spots, Stanley Park which has a beautiful, clean playground and a fun zip line for kids, or to Estes Park Visitor's center (1.5mi) where you can find lots of ideas for fun things to do or pick up the RMNP shuttle or shuttle to downtown. The Farmer's Market is held here in the Visitor's Center parking lot Thursday mornings during the summer. The famous Roof Top Rodeo is held the second week in July.
Enjoy your morning coffee/tea or evening wine on our quiet deck, shaded by beautiful Ponderosas. Save on meals with our gas grill or well-stocked kitchen for quick and easy dinners. Our deck is perfect for viewing frequent wildlife passing by or enjoying a peaceful view, at the start or end of your day, of Mount Olympus and a sweet meadow where deer and elk frequently graze.
Our cute cabin is comfortably suited for 4 guests with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The cabin arrangement offers privacy as the bedrooms and bathrooms are on opposite sides of the cabin, separated by the kitchen and living room. The front bedroom has a queen bed and the front bathroom has a tub and shower. (The second bedroom currently has a bunk bed with full/double bunks top and bottom.) The back bathroom has a shower and a full size washer and dryer. *PLEASE NOTE: BEGINNING JANUAURY 2026 THE BACK BEDROOOM WILL HAVE ONE QUEEN BED instead of the full size bunkbeds.
We offer free WiFi and Direct TV, a wood-burning fireplace with free firewood provided. The full-size kitchen has a full-size range and refrigerator, a microwave, toaster and crockpot, Keurig and regular coffee maker. Spices, tea, coffee, hot choc, popcorn and basic condiments are provided. You are welcome to use what you find in the kitchen. Many guests leave what they haven't used for the next guests. The dining area has seating for 6.
Estes Park offers a variety of activities, hiking, shopping, miniature golf, bumper cars and boats, mountain coaster, Jeep tours of RMNP, off-roading, rock climbing, horseback riding, dining, golfing, wildlife viewing. If you have questions, send us an email.

We had the best Christmas break family vaca at this cozy home. It snowed tons and my Texas born and raised kiddos adored the fire and games after playing in the snow.
We have stayed at many VRBO s, and Rich and Joys was the BEST!Home was very comfortable and many extras were included, including fully stocked kitchen. This home was so great, we avoided crowded restaurants and ate many meals here. The view was fantastic and saw many animals! Simply put, BEAUTIFUL!
Great cabin! Views were phenomenal and the host was very responsive and easy to work with. The split bedroom floor plan was perfect for our teen who liked a little privacy. The cabin had lots of “extras” lots of hooks, Safeway membership card, spices etc.
Communication with property owners was outstanding. Cabin was nice and clean. Great location. Quiet neighborhood. Stocked with kitchen essentials. Elk and Mule Deer right in the yard was a plus! Would stay hear again.
Glad we checked in before shopping at Safeway... our hosts provided several Keurig coffee flavors, fresh mayo, ketchup, etc. No need to buy many staples for a few days' stay! The mountain cabin was very clean, well-equipped, and located a short drive from town. It took about 15 minutes to reach the Beaver Meadows entry into RMNP. Our hosts were easy to contact and very helpful. We would come back in a hot minute!
Absolutely fantastic little cabin. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but also so close that if you needed that shopping fix it was a 5min drive. Also a short drive to RMNP (roughly 10 minutes). The cabin itself had ABSOLUTELY everything you needed and I have to say it was absolutely the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in!!!! It was a dream. The kitchen had everything you needed and I love that guests are encouraged to share what is in the cupboards, things you might need once or twice but don't have to go to the store to buy! We left a few contributions for the next guests as well! Joy, the host was very communicative, helpful and friendly. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
My wife and I stayed in this cabin for over a week, and absolutely loved our time there. It is located quite near the shops, restaurants and stores of Estes Park, but since it lies on the edge of a forest it is wonderfully quiet during the evening. The view from the living room window is towards an expansive field where we saw a bull elk along with several of his harem. Elk were also seen lying down and gadding about just feet away from our lodging.
The cabin is thoroughly equipped and quite comfortable. The master bedroom has a comfy queen bed and we slept very well after hiking. A bathroom with tub/shower is just a few feet away. The living room is completely furnished and features a wood-burning fireplace, books and table games. The kitchen has all the accessories one might need to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner, including a microwave and dishwasher. There is a table for four adjacent to it. We didn't use a second bedroom that has a bunk bed with double mattresses, one which would delight children. A laundry room with new washer and dryer hosts a second toilet and shower.
This is truly not a cabin, but a fully equipped and functional home.
The hosts of the cabin -- Rich and Joy Harvey -- live right across the road. They are what my wife and I call "good people," meaning they are friendly, unassuming and authentic. They accorded us privacy but extended themselves if we needed them. We came to like them very much and think most anyone would also like them.
Home away from home! Very comfortable and cozy! The cabin had everything you could possible need. We saw deer and elk outside our kitchen window. The host was very easy to communicate with. We hope to return next year.

Wonderful place to stay! Great location! Joy and Rich are excellent hosts and the cabin is charming and perfect for our stay!!
The house is not a lake front, but a mountain property. The stay was exceptional, as the house was comfortable and cozy, with. Very well stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable, showers were excellent with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The laundry room was well equipped. The location was quiet and relaxing. The owners were friendly, responsive and genuinely nice people. I would definitely stay again!

Such a cozy cabin and nice owner! We loved it when we stay there!
The cabin was perfect. Very clean and well stocked. We loved the rustic decor throughout. The highlights were the elk and deer that visited numerous times. We did all the touristy stuff this year, (5 minute drive to the lake and 7 minutes to town) but next year we will be relaxing on the deck enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery, and fishing. Thanks for everything!
From the get go, communication was on point. The cabin was well stocked, clean, and cute! Great location within walking distance of Lake Estes and even the downtown area. I think we had one question during our stay and the hosts got back to us immediately. It was a great stay and we highly recommend this cabin! Thanks for helping us make some great family memories!
Great and comfortable cabin. Joy and Rich were good hosts and very communicative before, during and after our stay. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin!
