There was a problem using the magnetic key card to access our room from the elevator. We required assistance from the desk clerk, who immediately came to help and said that this is a known problem… The hotel itself is elegant and modern in the public areas of the lobby, very Finnish, as it should be! Unfortunately, it is located in an unattractive inner courtyard at the airport, surrounded by asphalt, concrete, glass, and steel, none of which is inviting or attractive. The walkway to reach the hotel entrance from the airport, which takes about two or three minutes, is not enclosed."

It is a 15 minute scenic walk from the Kouvusaari Metro (once on the Metro, it is only a 10 minute ride to the main Helsinki Railway station). The room had a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee service, picture window with gorgeous water view, and a nice bathtub. Breakfast was very satisfying with good variety. Pool and sauna were also enjoyable. The highlight of this idyllic oasis would be the lovely paths for walking, running and biking (free bike usage from the hotel!). We would be just delighted to return to Hotel Hanasaari (Hanaholmen in Swedish). "
