Lovely find. Relaxing hotel. Very clean. Stunning views from room and lots of activity on the water as had a harbour/sea view room. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Plenty of choice for every taste. Staff work extremely hard and were so nice and friendly. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. Only thing is this hotel is quite isolated and wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility problems. Anyone who was on the B&B rate would have a 15 min walk to the nearest restaurants at the harbour

Location of the hotel is superb. Beautiful views. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The pool was enjoyable. We didn't use any of the other facilities - wellness room, gym etc so cannot comment on those. We booked half-board. The evening meals were only OK. Some evenings the choice was mediocre and potato-wise there was little variation over the week with little choice each day. The layout of the buffet was somewhat confusing with a lot of to-ing and fro-ing e.g. there was no butter etc near the area where the bread was at breakfast time and at one of the coffee machines there was no milk or sugar and you had to go through the whole area to get those things. The internal decor (in the corridors) is grey and rather uninspiring and there are few, if any, pictures etc to brighten up corridors or rooms. It felt a little functional in places. We hired a car and found a free parking area about 5 mins walk from the hotel as the parking fees at the hotel were very expensive (more over the week than the car hire!) We'd almost certainly look around at other options before booking at the hotel again.

The hotel is situated in a residential area so you are not overwhelmed by loads of tourists and really get a feel for local culture. Es Castell is within walking distance of Mahón but there is also a very good bus service to Mahón and Ciutadella.

Great hotel and lovely staff

Miguel was very friendly upon arrival and all the staff were very helpful. My room was comfortable and clean and the facilities in the hotel are great. Location is perfect for somewhere quiet but close to the city. As a solo traveller I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
