"Amazing place and great location , Joao and his staff were very accommodating and helpful during my stay , would highly recommend and would book again when I’m back in Amarante , the breakfast at the bakery across the hotel was amazing and the staff there were very nice and helpful as well , I was in town in to prepare for a cycling race and they helped with a breakfast box the day of my race. "The staff here, aside from the lovely man in the dining room for breakfast , were minimalist at best. The front desk staff were well below par. The hotel is pretty basic and the town itself doesn’t have a lot to offer - look elsewhere for a Douro experience unless you want to see the church stairs."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quinta de la Rosa. The views over the Douro Valley are absolutely beautiful and made for a very relaxing experience. We loved the onsite restaurant and spending time at Tim’s Terrace, both of which made the most of the stunning surroundings. The wine tour and tasting were a highlight, with knowledgeable staff and excellent wines. The property was clean, quiet, and peaceful throughout our stay. A wonderful place to unwind and experience the beauty of the Douro Valley."

"The site is amazing, with the hotel's buildings scattered artfully across a number of terraces that traverse the steep hillside. Our room was spacious and comfortable and even had a lovely balcony facing the Douro. The big pool was gorgeous and a delight to swim in. Our only meals on site (two breakfasts and one dinner) were buffet-style--perfectly acceptable but nothing special."

"This place is stunning, simply put. They thought of everything - none of the details were missed. Hairdryer in room, spacious bathrooms and spotless rooms, lovely breakfast included. The views, flowers, sounds of birds and refreshing pool are what makes this a special place. Very close to train station in Regua, with lots of restaurants close by."

"This is by no measure a 5-star property, but a well used 4-star facility. The upkeep is not really up to par, with mold in the bathroom, bathroom doors peeling severly due to water damage, stained towels etc. The breakfast is fine, but, again, not up to 4-star standards (including 5-star hotels in Portugal). The common spaces like the dining room show extensive damage due to use (and lack of maintenance?) and there's peeling paint in the hallways. However, the staff were exceedingly friendly and the price we paid in mid-May (around 150 € per night) was right for a 4-star place."
