Hotel-Restaurant Bänklialp is a wonderful hotel. I stayed in the single room with a balcony and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very clean and recently remodeled. The facilities are well-equipped, with a sauna/steam room on site, electric hot water kettle in rooms, common ski room with boot dryers in lockers, covered parking, and a good restaurant on site. My room itself was small, but very clean, had a nice view of the valley/mountains, a balcony, and small closet. The staff is very nice and helpful. The only negative is the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the gondola and 5-7 minutes to the train station. But, it was well worth it for the quality of hotel and value. Also, the restaurant is very good, my chicken cordon bleu was one of the best meals I've had in Switzerland.

Unable to reach the hotel by phone
We were unable to reach the property by phone for 3 hours in late afternoon/ evening regarding our booking, and as a result we had to make another booking at a different property as suggested by Hotels.com customer service. We were promised that Hotels.com would take care of the refund of this booking but Hotels.com keep delaying our refund and shift the blame to this hotel. We are extremely let down and angry with both the property and the hotels.com customer service team’s lack of honesty and responsibility.

Great location, clean hotel
I was a bit disappointed because I had booked a room that claimed it had a balcony and mountain view, but it ended up just being a window that opened to a road. I was only staying for one night so I let it slide. However, the room was clean and comfortable and the view from the restaurant was spectacular. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

Tip top, Hundefreundlich. Ideal für Wanderungen. Frühstück gut.Einzig negativ, Restaurant erst Abends geöffnet. Jedoch genug andere Möglichkeiten im Dorf. Nur 5 Minuten Gehweg ins Dorf. Mega Aussicht. Wir kommen wieder.

Fräscht hotell med fantastisk utsikt
Charmigt hotell med fantastisk utsikt över Engelberg och bergen omkring. God frukost och rent och fräscht.. Vi bodde 4 i ett familjerum för 4 och hade gott om utrymme, tyckte vi. Återvänder gärna.

Bellissimo hotel con vista
Abbiamo soggiornato 2 notti all'hotel Hotel-Restaurant Bänklialp ed e' stata una sorpresa piacevolissima. Camera molto bella con balconcino con vista su tutto il paese e sulle montagne, ottimo ristorante, ottima colazione, personale gentilissimo e c'è anche una zona spa con sauna e bagno turco.

Schöne Zimmer mit Ausblick. Frühstücksbuffet war gut. Service ist schlecht, Rezeption ist selten besetzt und man muss alle Informationen selber erfragen (Sauna Benützung, Shuttel). Gästekarte haben wir erst auf Nachfrage bekommen. Unzuverlässiger Shuttel zu Talstation. Zum Bahnhof leider kein Shuttel.

Das Hotel ist ziemlich schäbig und seinen Preis auf keinen Fall wert! Der Hotelflur ist komplett schwarz gestrichen gewesen und hatte grünen Linoleumboden - Krankenhaus-Katakomben wirken dagegen freundlich. Das Bett hat an allen Ecken und Enden geknarzt und sauber war es auch nicht wirklich. Die Duschkabine ist aus den Angeln gefallen und die Oberflächen waren volligst zugekalkt. Der angegebene Balkon ist zur Gemeinschaftsnutzung mit den Zimmernachbarn gedacht - nicht ideal für uns - wir sind mit Hund unterwegs gewesen - das Balkongeländer war auch nicht geschlossen, Unfallgefahr! Im Restaurant gab es erstmal ne Ansage "ihr hättet reservieren müssen, wir sind fast voll!" Danke für die Gastfreundschaft! Für alles Gäste gab es auch nur 2 Servicekräfte, was heißt dass wir relativ lange warten mussten auf alles. Wir waren auf der Durchreise und der Aufenthalt war teuer und sehr enttäuschend - nächstes Mal lieber durchfahren!

Innen schöner als aussen
Von Aussen sieht das Gebäude erst am Abend gut. Es liegt am Holz, was eine Nachpflege vertragen könnte.Innen haben uns zwei Kamins überrascht und ein sehr ansprechendes Interier. Obwohl wir Bergaussicht bezahlt haben, wurden wir uns Zimmer gegeben, die nicht ein Bergblick hatten, sondern Fenster mit mit Seitenwand vom Hügel, der das ganze Fensterblick gefüllt hat. Das vermittelte das Gefühl im Gefängnis zu sein, nicht im Hotel. Auf Anfrage wurde mir mitgeteilt, das ist ein Bergblick. Als ich mit dem Zimmer nicht einverstanden war, entgegnete mir die Dame im unangemessener Art, das es Bergblick ist und bat mir ein anders Zimmer an. Das Zimmer war im gleichen Stock und entsprach dem, was ich bestellt habe.Das andere Zimmer haben wir akzeptiert, denn die Art der Kommunikation sollte uns den Aufenthalt nicht vermassseln. Abendessen im Hotel war an dem Abend nicht möglich, was mir im Hotels noch nie passiert ist. Beim Frühstück konnten wir leider den angenehmen Raum um 9Uhr nur 5 min geniesssen, den eine andere Dame hat die Tische gerichtet, hin und her geschoben, Papiertischdecken zusammengeknittert. Die Lärmkulisse war enorm lästig. Nach 15min haben wir es aufgegeben und den Raum verlassen. Das Hotelinterier war sonst wirklich hübsch, wenn auch die Zimmer nicht das neueste Mobiliar hatten, hat es uns optisch gefallen. So haben wir die anderen Unannehmlichkeiten bedauert. Meine Freundin will das Hotel aus erwähnten Gründen nie mehr buchen.

freundliches Personal, Badezimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt - Balkonboden wurde schon lange nicht mehr gereinigt, Lebensmittel hing vom Vorgänger die ganze Aufenthaltsdauer am Kleiderhacken, Froteetücher sollte wieder einmal neu gekauft werden
