"Charming miners cottages in the centre of Burra, within easy walking distance to eating & shops. Quiet, spacious, very comfy bed. Being winter the cottages do get cold but heat pump soon fixed that. When we arrived at the front of the cottages a notice on the gate said to check in around the corner at the office on site so we drove around only to find a board propped against a tree saying check in was now via the camp ground along the road. Another couple were in the same boat. When we arrived at the camp grounds there we no issues, the lady was very friendly, i informed her of the miscommunication info& was going to sort it out. We were told the cottages are council run. A message prior to check in to clarify this would be helpful. An otherwise great stay."

"Lovely old, historic cottage that is part of many of the original dwellings in Auburn. Modern inside with a comfy bed, spa bath, functional full kitchen and a great little combustion wood fire place. Perfect for a cooler month stay. A couple of cellar doors only a short walk for tasting. Many, many other wineries in the Clare Valley are fantastic. Enjoyable experience "

"Watervale has a Suprise or two foe the travelling wine buffs. a delightful home on a huge block with every mod con imaginable.Well equipped and provisioned we spent 4 nights self catering before experiencing the delicious menu offered at the Watervale Hotel. do not miss it."
