Tucked away in the trees near Carters Lake, the Coosawattee River, and downtown Ellijay, this two-level home is a place to find relaxation after days spent hiking, fishing, tubing, or apple-picking. As you enter, you'll be greeted by all the classic elements of a North Georgia escape - lofty ceilings of natural wood, a living room with ample seating and a streaming-equipped flatscreen TV, and a two-sided, wood-burning fireplace that warms both the living room and the kitchen to the rear. The kitchen is a cozy and well-appointed space, featuring stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), both a breakfast bar and a small bistro table for indoor dining, and a door that leads outside to the expansive back deck with its gas grill, covered dining table, and lovely views of the surrounding trees. Light up the firepit for a magical end to the day. At night, you'll find the three bedrooms wonderfully separated for privacy. There are two, including the primary suite, on the main floor and one more upstairs that's perfect for kids. Additional amenities include central air conditioning, free WiFi, and a private washer/dryer for your convenience. The resort has updated how guests gain access to the amenities on site. The guest will be responsible for purchasing amenity passes at the POA office. Monday-Saturday 9 am- 5 pm. Amenity passes are $59 per card. Each card allows 4 guests to use the amenities during the reservation dates. The POA only takes checks or money orders for payments. The outdoor pools are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day only. Fireplaces are operable from October 1st – April 15th only. THINGS TO KNOW Guests must register 48 hours before arrival or they will not be granted access to the resort.Guests must travel by car to reach this home.Streaming services are available with guests' accounts. However, it would’ve been nice to know prior to booking that the driveway is very steep. I drive a FWD and my car got stuck numerous times on the driveway. The gate was also an issue for the entirety of the trip. The gate guards kept telling me that my name was not in the system and every time I had to insist that I had already checked in just fine and to please let me in. The house is stocked with all of the essentials for cooking, eating, towels, and bedding. The internet worked without any issues for us to stream our holiday favorites, when the weather was too chilly for outdoor activities. The cleaning team could do a better job, as we found trash and items from the previous occupants in the bathroom, in the closets, and under the nightstands. The mirrors had not been wiped off either. The flue for the fireplace is small and a medium sized fire was almost too much for the fireplace to handle. ##### Andrea B. Not far from the main road and close to downtown Ellijay. We had 5 adults plus 2 small dogs, and the size of the property accommodated us perfectly Very clean and lots of indoor seating. Absolutely loved the outdoor firepit as well- perfect for roasting marshmallows. The property itself and experience were worthy of 5 stars but I am knocking off a star for 2 reasons. 1 is that there was no table large enough for everyone to sit down together. It would have been nice to have a large table to accommodate everyone on the large deck. The 2nd reason is that I would have preferred to speak directly with owners or people that managed the property rather than just generic 'Vacasa' answering services. Although they were polite, it caused a delay in getting the answers we needed. It also felt impersonal. Overall, thanks for an awesome stay! Loved it! ##### Laura G. The bottom of the drive is flat, but you have two steep entrances. You have to gun the engine to get up and your car drags on the ground due to ruts and you can’t see if anyone coming down the road very dangerous. We tried both side of the circle drive and both bad. We parked on the side of the road after a neighbor told us he had not seen anyone park in the drive. The walk up and down is steep. We could not stay out late because it was too dark to safely attempt. We also had trouble with combination lock. We called Vacasa and the gave us code to lock box with a key. The key was hard to use because the lock spins. They were unable to fix it while we were there. Someone had been smoking because house smelled and we found wrapping paper inside the cabin. Would not recommend you stay unless you have four wheel drive. There is no place other than the deck for children to play. Cabin was nice and kitchen had all the essentials you would need. ##### Rita S.
