Built in 1920 from old growth redwood, The Elk House is a uniquely Mendocino getaway tucked between forests & walking distance to the beach. With a big yard, fireplace and hot tub it's easy to never leave the property. However, the house is a short walk to Elk Beach, a creek walk, the Elk Store, a pub and even a two Michelin star restaurant.
This rustic Mendocino coast gem is a unique tranquil getaway for making memories with family
Short drive to Mendocino, Point Arena & Anderson Valley Wine country
Great nature and hiking at Navarro River Redwoods State Park, Van Damme State Park, the Stornetta Lands and Lighthouse in Point Arena, the Big River Beach at Mendocino Headlands, and Russian Gulch State Park.

Beautiful custom and rustic house in very quiet neighborhood. It was a perfect getaway for the four of us! We will be coming back again.

Charming house with a lot of personality

The house is charming with personal touches in design and art. The kitchen was laid out well and had cute dishes and coffee/tea cups. There was a nice range of pots and pans. The electric stove/oven is old and touchy though. The only heat for the house is a wood burning stove. It did heat the house well and there was a lot of wood for use. You do have to go into the garage to access the bathroom which is funky. The area is lovely and you can walk to the beach. Deer and Quayle are abundant there All in all above place to stay
