The service is well below the price. My room was clean bus musty smelling and freezing (would have been nice if they turned the heat on in advance considering it is Buffalo in winter). Only one person took orders at the restaurant and also only one person serving breakfast (and she was annoyed that I came down in the last 1/2 hour). No bell person to help at all. The lobby elevators are a big run-around with no one to help with your bags. The front entrance was littered with trash and had a chicken fence around it. There were bight construction lights shining through the windows. The receiver of the phone in my room was not charged so I could not answer the front desk when they called at 11am to let me know I had to check-out even though I asked for a late check out when I checked-in late the night before --and I was one of only 10 guests in the hotel… Overall I felt like a nuisance to the staff. The museum in the basement was very interesting but it feels the place is struggling financially and they are not going out of their way to make the guests happy. Glad I did! This property worked well for what we needed it for, a nice warm place to unwind and eventually sleep. We didnt cook or use the kitchen but it was there and available, not sure how stocked it was cooking supplies wise because we didnt check. Bathroom and shower worked great, no issues with heating the house either. I will say if you have never been to Buffalo and are not familiar with houses in the city, I could see a renter expecting more and possibly leaving a bad review. This house is on the nicer end of the spectrum of Buffalo living. Plus the house is in a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. But the best part about Buffalo is everything is with in a 15 minute car ride in any direction.
